Any ETA on the IR lights? Thanks!
Love the design on the new 26800 light! Finally a proper SBT90.2 mid size thrower with adequate cooling. I’ll sure order one when the driver and spring issue gets sorted out. Just squeeze in a bigger FET and worst case scenario use solid brass +ive contact and 18awg bypassed rear spring.
Will it be called the L5?
Are these parts on aliexpress?
It’s these, the large spring only. 5.82€ 5% OFF|DIY Batterie/Fahrer Kontaktieren Unterstützung Quellen für P60 (26,5mm) Drop in 10 sets|battery contact spring|contact battery springcontact spring - AliExpress
Maybe talk to BlueSwordM about his high current springs, together they can handle 21A. Maybe they will fit
base diameter should be less than 5mm
Simon Mao: Di_Joker: Simon Mao: texas shooter:Simon, I received your new M3C today the one without a head spring. Spring tension on the 26800 with extension and the 26650 with the body tube only is mild to weak. On moon mode a mild tap will turn it off. Other modes it flickers. My quick fix so far is to remove the retaining ring. Press a P60 outer dropin spring into the hole along with the supplied tail spring. It fits very snug but a longer stronger tail spring is needed.
Di_Joker:
Yes, there is a similar problem with the S11 spring. I put a vertically switched flashlight on the table and it switches the mode. :person_facepalming:
i can send the 26mm plates if you need it
There is a possibility that this is a temporary solution to the problem. The spring will squeeze again over time and everything will repeat itself. I think need a more powerful spring or a double spring for flashlights with heavy 26650 batteries.
spring can soldered on the the 26mm plate, The area used for welding the spring on the driver is too small, and I cannot find a suitable spring that can withstand large currents.
Uh, what I mean is that the positive electrode of the battery and the driver are not in contact with the spring

Can Simon please confirm?
Yes, it’s a sample ,but the driver is not good ,
it’s a FET driver, The manufacturer claims that the maximum output can reach 25A, but when I measured it was only 19.2A
This is exciting! Will a host version be available?

The driver now only has a stud. Prefer springs on both ends to allow travel under shock without loss of contact.

Thank you very much
Simon. Please consider making some sort of shock dampener for the positive contact on drivers using the brass stud. This would ideally be a low durometer rubber or high density foam that prevents the positive end of the cell from being dented from impact. A plastic ‘cap’ that surrounds the stud and only let’s it protrude a mm or less would work too

Like a gun-light, I’d imagine.
Recoil would be Hell on a driver…
What a beauty in polished silver/raw!
Simon, do you plan to make these in 2 x 26800 with one piece battery tube (no adapters)? Then you could use your L7 driver. Please do and I will buy.

There is a very simple way, you can use silicone o-ring of appropriate size for the thread,
For example, 26650 battery, you can put some 26mm O-ring on the positive pole

This one has charging port ,
If it is designed according to the L7 style, the charging port will be removed

This is true, and I do this often in my lights. Just thought it would be a nice feature to include especially with the 26800 which is hard to get for a lot of people and so protecting that investment is important.
Thanks for the reply anyhow
Check out this new Red LED over at Kaidomain, this would be sweet in the H1 Headlamp since it doesn’t require a special 2.5v driver.
There’s a review saying they pushed it over 6A and it handled it fine.
I get a lot of inquiries from hunters wanting a red lamp to go with the C8+ and L21B in red.
Funtastic:What I’d love to see is the M21E, M21D etc use the SFT40. Yes, I know it would require a new driver, but currently Convoy have nothing for longer reach using a side switch, except the SBT90.2 models. Need something a wee bit more compact
driver for M21E with KW CULPM1.T/SFT40 in production now
Oh man, this is the best news i have read in a long time. Well this, and the 26800 sbt90 light! Ive been waiting a long time for Convoy (prefereably) to make a Single battery sbt90 thrower with a bezel larger than a noctigon K1 ! what an exciting time for Convoy. it just gets better and better! ive already ordered the m21e even though i dont want a xhp70 light, its just so nice looking i couldnt resist lol. CULPM1 and sft40 will be awesome! plus that means other 3v leds too.

BUT please still make it with only ONE 26800 battery tube as well, Simon. please. I know many like 2x26800 or 2x26650, but that is enough for me not to buy. one battery , 26800. such a beautiful design. the raw silver is perfect. my L21a is a light i will never get rid of.
Question for Simon
Are you able to implement below 0.1% mode on most of your drivers?
My 4x amc7135 draw ~ 3mA,it’s too bright indoor on late night. Need real firefly mode
