Best Men's Wallet Ever?

Big Skinny World Bifold

My vote for EDC and travel. I added a slim stylus/pen into the crease and been happy for ~10 years.

Allett Leather Original wallet, can high capacity equal thinness!?? - YouTube This guy just reviews wallets, probably over a hundred on his channel. Allett Leather Original.

I like a traditional wallet. All of them have tradeoffs. You have to ask yourself, what do you take out of your wallet the most often? The wallet RJ shows makes you have to unzipper it for each and every item. Not ideal. Yes my driver license does stick but I almost never have to remove it. As for cc’s, I only have two and they work well for the traditional wallet.

The worst thing is losing your wallet, the thing stuffed with papers, cards, identification, membership, money, etc… SO much can be lost in one fell swoop.

When I was in my late 30’s, I started to have a lower back ache, due to the fact that my wallet was too thick. And that’s when I realized it was time to break things up. Now I carry a “credit card wallet,” something small enough to not be obtrusive, but wide enough to hold a couple of credit cards (usually my ATM debit card is left home, but sometimes I carry it when called for), driver’s license, medical insurance card, and a few miscellaneous things. Only one folded up $20, as emergency cash. Then in my front left pocket, I keep a money clip that holds my mini wad of cash. Since so much is paid for via credit/electronic, it’s easy to get by with a few bills for tips, small items, etc., without needing a stack.

Interesting...

The title of this thread was something like "The Best Men's Wallet Ever! Period! End of Story!"

Now it's "Best Men's Wallet Ever?"

I’ve been using one of these for a few months now. Pretty impressed by it. Wallettopia on yt has a review. XSTO Wallet – AKEENi

Do you want to see the WORST wallet ever ?

It’s just two blocks of aluminium/titanium or some other metal that are held together by elastic strap.
The “geniuses” behind this idea are throwing money like crazy in propaganda. You see it everywhere on youtube, lots of paid shills are trying to sell it.
Obviously I had to get a clone from China to see what the fuss is about, and it turns out it’s pretty much the worst idea for a wallet ever.
The strap makes it so tight that it’s a pain in the ass to take a card out of it.

I changed it because of the matching strong opinions here. And some don’t always find my tongue-in-cheek dogmatism cute or funny. I figured, why not just change the title now that a discussion is going. I really appreciate the feedback, truth be told.

Pretty sure this is the first time ever I’ve been part of a conversation with anything remotly like the topic. I had a three fold up until COVID.

Now I have 2x c/cards on my phone and stuck my drivers license inside see through case of said phone. If I need anything else I’ll take it out of my wallet and put it back when done. No cash.

No cell phone wallets?? I couldn't have a cell wallet though as it's too cumbersome for me. I mean I like the cell wallet idea and all but too much going on for my hands and fingers. You got to hold the phone in a way the cards don't come flying out. Then you got all the button presses and pinch and zoom etc.

Wallet with a zipper, you mean a purse? That’s way too thick to be a wallet, 4-5 card and some cash is all that’s needed. This is the best wallet ever.

My SlimFold wallets are really great. Slim, lightweight and they hold a lot. I have them in all sizes. They are built with high quality and utilitarian designs.

I tried Big Skinny products but was disappointed with the quality problems I found in the items I ordered.

I will look at the All- lett and the other wallet brands mentioned here. Always interesting to see the options available.

There are so many types of wallets out there now. I feel like the market is saturated. You got materials like wood, leather, carbon fiber, metal, etc. Then you got trifold, dual fold, card, windows, cell, pockets etc. Then you have to worry about Rfid hacking and on and on. Hey, I think it’s easier shopping for a flashlight than a wallet these days. :innocent:

I got one similar to that. Phone’s in pristine condition, too, as a result.

I’d never keep regular stuff in there, but my metrocards when I’d take the buses to work fit right in those slots and stay snug enough to not fall out, and they’re a fraction of the thickness of a regular CC, so you’d expect them to slide right out.

Sounds good, and looks like you got it under control. Good idea to keep the basics in there too. I mean you know when one’s out and about for the day/night with all the hustle and bustle, it’s pretty easy to lose focus and have something slip. Also if you get pickpocketed, not much for the thief except another wallet for his collection.

Another pet peeve of mine...man purse?? I dunno man, those man purses look pretty close on the feminine side. I'm just saying.

se no more man purse!

Ohh, you must mean a Courier Bag, yeah that’s it.

This all started way back when.

I'll wear this type...

But maybe not this type...too big.

Naw, do what I do, and get one of those nylon bags with assloads of molle straps all over. Stick a few lights, killin’-knives, etc., on it, maybe a 2-way as well, with a bloody-skull “morale patch” on it.

Let's see, big honking BLF GT90 in the front large right pocket, wallet in the front middle left pocket, Astrolux WEP in the front large left pocket, knives and sharpening stone in left arm pocket, couple of 14000 lights in right arm pocket, Convoy C8+ in left arm pocket, chips and chocolate bars in left knee pocket, pens and notepad in the right knee pocket.
