I think they wanted to say SST40. You will not get any more than approximately 1000 lumens from an SST20.

Can somebody please describe the general characteristics of this upcoming light?? Seems like it would be more of a flood than a thrower with those 4 LEDs.

It should be similar to the Astrolux FT02S in terms of beam. They both have 4 SST40 (the Astrolux also comes with option of XHP50.2).

  • Sofirn: 522m / 9000 lm / 48mm head
  • Astrolux: 639m / 7000 lm / 55mm head

In fact the Sofirn probably had a more similar beam to the XHP50.2 Astrolux.

The Sofirn will likely sustain output better due to the buck driver and extra cell.

Edit: the Wurkkos DL70 is similar too, though quite a bit chunkier.

Edit 2: I just realized that this is basically the SP36 Pro but in a different host. :person_facepalming:

Can this use protected button top 21700? I’m scared to use unprotected cells in series. Also I hope there will be an Anduril version.

Hi, I apologize for my previous wrong reply. SF47 is not able to use protected button top 21700 batteries. The protected batteries is too long for SF47.

Thanks for the response, Dave. I like the Sofirn SP36 pro, so this one should be interesting. I have one on the way, but not sure how long it’ll take to arrive.
