Amazon Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

I have had the opportunity several times to compare my Uni-T with our electricain’s various meters and the little Uni-T has always been spot on… It is a really nice find. I did order one of the cheap splitters, will not be left plugged in. I will use it to calibrate energy monitoring plugs for my Home Assistant install. After conversion to Tasmota they really do need to be calibrated and with the voltage tap and current tap all in one place and a known load it all becomes very easy.

$36.

1. 3” TANTO BLADE
2. NON-HARDENED STAINLESS STEEL SCRAPER
3. SET OF 4 BONDHUS HEX KEYS AND SET OF 6 BITS (on the reverse)
4. 1911 BUSHING WRENCH (2-SIDED, INCLUDES GOVERNMENT AND OFFICER/COMMANDER PROFILE)
5. TAP HAMMER
6. 2.5″ LONG BIT DRIVER
7. FINE TOOTH METAL FILE
8. DETACHABLE PIN PUNCH WITH 8-32 THREADED RECEIVER (FITS STANDARD GUN CLEANING RODS, CABLES, BORE BRUSHES)

Looks great. Just received mine today. I feel silly about it. I didn’t realize until now, the reason the switch is three feet from the wall side is because if you place the extension
cord behind a piece of furniture, the switch will still be accessible. In fact, that is how I’m using this cord, so it’s great and very flexible. I don’t intend to use it outside for any
reason.

That’s a pretty nifty tool!.

Just did the meter. Now $52.20 out the door.
All the Best,
Jeff

AFTIME Portable Power Station

Hey folks, if you can get this power pack for that price, jump on it. I love mine!!!

Looks like a good alternative to a UPS.

Not if you want to keep the device under continuous power.
In the descriptions it says charging the batteries and using the device for power at the same time will shorten the battery life.
UPS is designed to make the switch to battery power seamlessly. Then return to line power and charge the batteries when power is restored.
I’d like something like this, just not sure which flavor to get. So many of the reviews on this type device are just regurgitating the factory propaganda.
All the best,
Jeff

Okay, thanks for the clarification.

For a hundred Bucks its worth a shot.

The one thing I like better on my Rockpals 300w unit is the direct 120v input not requiring the wall adapter.

That being said…I did order one for a friend.

Thank you, just purchased!

$100 is a very nice deal coming in at $0.33/Wh, the standard pricing for brand name solar generators is $1/Wh.

My biggest gripe with these power stations is that they use lower grade Li-ion batteries and the voltage fluctuates even under small loads. With 50% charge left the “12V” output is actually <11.0V which will trigger the LVP for some of the devices designed for car use. And it goes all the way down to 9V which makes the inverter run inefficiently for the last 30-40% SoC. My Rockpal is 2 years old with maybe 80 cycles and I can already feel the battery performing poorly vs when it was new.

Lifepo4 on the other hand will maintain ~3.2V throughout most of the discharge curve and the 12V output remains rock solid at 12.6V under load.

Hi Will,

I too would prefer LIFEPO4 for my power banks, but until a great deal on one comes around, it’ll have to be these using 18650 or 26650 Li-ion for me. But I do feel your pain on previous
power banks I’ve purchased. The one that has been great for me for the last 3 years is my Nextrend 75000mAh / 278Wh Power Bank. It contains (15) 5,000mAh LiitoKala Brand INR 26650’s.
I’ve found many of these type of portable power monsters contain either DP brand cells, or like my Nextrend using LiitoKala Brand INR 26650’s. A photo of the inside of mine is below.

I will say this, if the Chinese want to build something like this with excellent soldering and very neatly laid out, they can if they want to. But where it counts are the batteries have really been excellent.

There is this one for $199.https://www.amazon.com/GOLABS-Portable-Station-Generator-Emergency/dp/B08P5SFV4D

And this one on lightning deal for $169.99, but it’s smaller and more expensive.

More than happy with the AFTIME, may grab a solar panel when a deal comes along
