Hank, I’m waiting for you to add charging to the D4V2 please. Any hope?
I have respect for everyone thoughts and opinions. Not picking… But I’m not a huge fan of charging a battery in a flashlight. A charging port or magnetic charging just creates a weak link. I like my external charger. But everybody has preferences.
I already have my D4V2 and only missing the light in the button. That feature came out after I got mine!

To each their own. I have plenty of USB charging lights and I haven’t had any fail yet.

i understand both sides of this "argument", but I for one hope Hank does not add charging to any more of his lights. Unless he does it like he does on the k1, that is ok because it's not a bad ingress for water, although I still don't use it lol. . I just would always rather charge on a good charger, and carry an extra battery.
I never use my flashlights in heavy rain or dropped them in water, so I would be fine with internal charging. But I don’t mind taking the batteries out and charging them.
For those that don’t want to buy a charger or bring along a charger when away from home, I can see the appeal of having internal charging. My 1 flashlight/headlamp that has internal charging (a Boruit D10) works great and never had an issue with it.

I’d rather use my flashlight around the house than turn on the lights.
I think integrated charging in the battery tube is a great idea like in the K1. This way, you can have a charging and non charging version that is swappable. Keeping the charging circuit separate from the driver is a big plus IMO, and water proofing is superior. I hate rubber port covers.

I’m holding a K1 (from Artiet59…thanks bro!) for the first time. This is awesome! 100% agreement…if a maker puts charging as an option then it needs to be as the K1. Those flimsy rubber ports is what has always turned me off.

you're welcome man! And I couldn't agree more about Hanks charging on the K1 / k9.3, it is the perfect solution. Appeases both - people who want it and people who don't.
Hank, would you consider offering the SFT-40 in the KR1? Would be a great LED for that light.
i can attest to this, please do Hank. I have a modded KR1 with the sft40 and it is by far the best led of any KR1 setup I have owned (sst40, w2, W1, green W1, green w2, sst20, xpl-hi).
I have asked several times already but I try once more. SFT-40 is not listed below because it is being recommended already.
Nichia E21A 1800K R9080 or R9050...this is as close to real candlelight as it gets
Samsung LH351D (2700K - 6500K, 70CRI - 90CRI)...whereas 90CRI will most likely be favored by most people
Cree XP-L2 4000K - 5000K...yes, it has horrible tintshift but it's still one of the most efficient emitters and underneath a frosted 10623 or 10624 the artifacts should disappear. Maybe it's worth trying out?
Cree XHP50.3 HI 3V...once it becomes available
Cree XP-P...a good opponent to Osram's KW CSLNM1.TG but hopefully available in warmer tints (< 6000K)
Has anyone measured the colour output of the sw35 219B Hank is using? I couldn’t find anything other than measurements from a slightly sketchy phone app and I’d like to know how rosy they are.

Not measured but it’s disappoitingly greenish compared to e21a 3500 K

I would be happy if he brought back the D4 and added charging. Then we all can be happy.

Not interested in built in charging for the most part. Be good if it were an option for folks who do want it tho.

Several manufacturers have been producing lights with SFT-40 for some time now…

According to my information it should become available again by September 2021. How do you think about the other LED suggestions, Hank?

Did the same compare : yep green a little in lower modes, not far from the sst-20 2700-4000 mix but nothing like the really green xpl-hi 8d .
