It’s Widder Maker time in Texas.
The Black Widow population is in full bloom. The moms are laying egg sacks all over the place.
I usually leave most critters be. But theses creepy crawly critters seem to love to hang out by my outside doors.
Out comes the bug spray.
They also like to hide in the corners of my office downtown.
Thoop, Thoop, is the sound when a thumbnail sized Widow gets sucked by the shop vac.
Important safety tip. DO NOT use a Bug Assalt thingy on a spider located in a corner above your head.
The air blast propels said spider directly back at you.
I eventually recovered and my blood pressure is getting back to normal.
Black Widow trivia. Ever notice how a Black Widow silk strand actually goes “Snap” when it breaks?
They are way thicker than regular spider silk.
In years gone by, the cross-hairs in rifle scopes, range finders Etc. were made of Black Widow silk thread.
Pictures from Australia land with fields covered in webs for acres - Too damn spooky to be real!
All the Best,
Jeff
