Is Gearbest GONE !

I did buy a knife a few months ago …
In fact , I think I have only bought knives the last few years from GB .

probably dead

their facebook page shows nothing since july 7( and that wouldn;t even take money to keep going)

sometimes they restart, maybe with new owners

someone going to gearbest.com in 6 months may not even know it was dead

wle

They haven’t posted here for almost 4 months.

They had the highest prices after Amazon.
Amazon can get away with it, but not chinese stores. They need to keep prices low to survive

I mentioned in a different thread that I used to have sometimes 2-3 orders in the air at any given time from GB because they had great choice and great prices, but then people started having “issues” with them. And then refunds started turning into “points” and “wallets” that were pretty much unusable. Interest waned, as people didn’t want to get screwed.

Most of my knives and lights came from GB, and more crap like fidgets, USB lights, torx-bit sets, etc., but then with the flash sales that would start at 0-dark-30 and be sold out at like 30sec past, I stopped even trying. Complaints from others about this or that, I got wary, and stopped ordering from GB unless I absolutely needed something.

Then AX came along and supplanted that until they started charging their fake “sales tax” that I’m so sure they remitted to the respective states. Think GB shortly followed suit. Only FT doesn’t do that, which is why I still order stuff from ’em.

Point being, they were a value shop, then got greedy and started to squeeze. And the tighter you squeeze, the more that slips through your fingers. And now they’re gone. Big surprise.

Shame, too, ’cause they were really good as far as selection and prices.

Pardon my ignorance but what is FT?

Fasttech

Thanks. I’ve never browsed there before.

Can’t say I’m surprised. Last time I browsed there, most of what I wanted was out of stock, or i could get it cheaper from AE with free shipping. I also heard of the scamming and shady dealing with refunds and warranty returns si I never purchased anything there.

I haven’t bought from FT either. No need to with AE and eBay.

I didn’t even know they existed. There are so many of these online stores…which one does one go to??? :money_mouth_face:

I have bought several items from GB since i became a BLF member, they used to be quite good, but the last 2 years they were extremely pricey and did not offer many choices.

Quite sad actually

I’ve used GB a lot in the past, they where great in vape-stuff but also some lights and knives and other assorted stuff bought there. Some time ago the vape-stuff was gone overnight and everything started to change, shipping went from one of the fastest to slow if it even came at all. That was the time to stop shopping with GB and it seems I wasn’t the only one who thought so.

Some time ago the newsletters in my email stopped, didn’t even notice till now………

Like so many here, it had been at least a couple of years since I used them. In hindsight you could see that they were on the slide so maybe it shouldn’t be so much of a shock to us if true.

I would use AE if they had PayPal

Anyway I look forward to a new China offering that will maintain the long standing tradition of using English badly and gets the naming backwards.

I’m predicting GB will re-incarnate as:

Gadget Great
Stuff Better
Care Dont

AE does have paypal. Only way I pay online.

Thanks for the heads up Camaro!

Yes, looks like GearBest is gone. Last email I got from them was the end of May. Too bad they aren’t an option anymore for flashlight stuff.

Jesus! I nearly bought from them a few days ago!

I stopped visiting GB after they came out with the BS $0.01 flash sale…

The flashlight was a lie?
