Actually, to be honest, before this video I was hesitant to start posting to BLF for fear of trying to spread poorly-informed content (since Iām just a fellow hobbyist), I really want to provide accurate info. I was kind of worried the videos would even just be annoying, since thereās lots of great reviews already and most others here (including myself) seem to prefer written reviews.
However people seem to be really enjoying the last few videos and have found them helpful, which is great to hear. This forum is a nice place too
When it comes to reviews, I like techy stuff first and foremostā¦nice to see graphs and data, and especially nice when people do part of full teardowns and provide measurements of parts (that is often a godsend for anyone who needs to repair a light or mod it in any way, since most of the time weāre ordering stuff from overseas with the long wait times, etc). I guess in some ways I do prefer written, but Good video reviews get my attention and Iāll watch them all the way through - yours definitely make the short list of videos Iāll watch. Reallyā¦nice work!
Thatās just your anxiety talking. It may help to give it a name, likeā¦ Mitch. If you listen to Mitch, heāll tell you to give up on the things you enjoy. Heāll tell you to hide the things which make you interesting and awesome, and try to be as small as possible so you wonāt bother anyone.
So donāt listen to Mitch. Heās an asshole. Nobody likes that guy.
Lol, my browser is set to https-only so it didnāt like your site.
As for dealing with Mitch, heās certainly an annoyance. Iāve not heard of this strategy before, Iāll have to give it a try XD
Thanks! Iām glad to hear too that the technical stuff and the measurements are appreciated.
Itās been tricky finding a balance with my reviews, I think my videos fit into a wierd spot where they seem too āfancyā and advertisement-like upon first impression, causing a lot of viewers drop out right away (according to the data YT provides), but the technical data is a bit dense sometimes and starts to slow it down, so altogether itās hard to balance. I think Iāve gotten better at making the whole thing āfitā together though. Iāve decided that the amount of technical detail will depend on the light Iām reviewing, and whether or not Iāve already covered specific things like drivers/UI, since itās just so time-consuming.
For this particular review, I was really happy with how it all turned out, even if it was super long.
