Flashlight Tag Across the Lake

So over the weekend I decided to bike down to the lake and check out the big cliff overlooking Lake Ontario.

Hadn’t been there since back in highschool.

I went during the day, but also decided to go back and check it out again at night and brought my Manker MC13 and E14 III along with me.

I was shining the MC13 out into the distance and into the sky for a bit before I noticed a light shining back at me from where the red arrow is pointing.

I shined both of mine back on strobe in that direction and heard all sorts of hootin’ and hollerin’

I showed off the MC13 by turbo-ing and strobe-ing straight up into the sky and way out over the lake and faintly heard one of them yell “That was f*n awesome!”

It was a cool little moment.

We played tag back and forth on and off during the hour I sat up there enjoying the view.

Fun!  Smile

Reminds me of summer camp where we'd practice morse code flashing from across a little lake, maybe 200m shore to shore at the points we used.  Of course the lights back then were all dim halogens and any strobe was entirely manual.

Sounds cool! Thanks for sharing, CRC.

What’s turning out to be your top favorite mid/small sized throwers?

The Manker MC13 is my only thrower besides my Lumintop GT Nano.

Its really fun to have the ability to light up “way over there” with such a small pocketable device.

Im thinking of getting a proper thrower with usable spill for more practical usage though.

And I’d really like an LEP for some extra fun but dont “need” it lol

Considering the Astrolux WP3 has a range of 2.9 km, that would really open their eyes…. and you’d be able to see it! Smile

I also don’t “need” a LEP, but I do “have” one…..

Someday I’ll go look for a safe area to play with it. Not a good light for just walking the dog, unless you have a greyhound maybe….

Ha I love it.

Closest I’ve come to that was when I lived in a condo complex years ago and there was a pool below mine. Some jerkoffs were yelling and making all this noise one night at like 1 AM so I held my Nitecore TM26 (this was a long time ago) out the window and blasted them with 4,000+ lumens on turbo for like 5 seconds. It was pitch dark – fully open pupils I’m sure.

They were all shouting “WTF was that??!!!”

Lucky for them I hadn’t bought my Imalent MS18 yet (:

Ha true. Well I was hiding behind the rail on my balcony and it might’ve been even less than 5 seconds.
