When I received the new light the emitter came on blue for a few seconds before it died. Replacing it is something I am not interested in doing at this time. I would like to pass it along to a fellow BLF member. All I ask is for a prepaid USPS shipping label to be sent. This is for someone new or relatively new to modding flashlights to learn/practice on. So if you are an accomplished modded please allow someone else to get this. No firm rules on who is eligible - it is just an honor system.
It is all boxed and ready to go. Send me a PM if interested.
hope someone gets to try this mod out. It actually will be a good project, because with those auxiliary leds inside the reflector (and on the mcpcb) swapping an LED is not as straight forward as a standard ft03. I never took mine apart before i sold it, but unless there are two boards for the mcpcb and aux mcpcb, the swap will be a great learning experience for a new/moderate modder.
Hope it works out!
IF the person who gets this doesn't end up having success fixing it and wants help, i am willing to help out too (not saying i can definitely, but i should probably be able to). Id even work on it and send it back to you lol.
lol, thank you! thats funny because if i didn't have a couple of projects going on i was trying to work out i would've asked. i feel like my experience level qualifies me, but the fact that i already am working a couple different small projects disqualifies me (kind of like im taking it away from someone who this could be there first project). Amber Osrams work for me! :))
dude.. thank you Lojik! i really appreciate that man! And you're right, OP is doing something at the heart of the forum here. Get a mod in someone's mitt's!
When I first found BLF I knew almost nothing about flashlights. For the last 4-5 years I have been taking from this community. Mainly knowledge and information. Finally I had an opportunity to give something back. Although there was one thing I had been giving too much of. My money to the flashlight sellers.
I feel the same way about the community. I have been given so much by it. Help and advice and lessons. That’s why I appreciate it so much too. There’s an avid willingness to help and share and bestow wisdom here. That’s what I felt you and ArtieT59 were epitomizing so well. So thank you guys again.
