I think DX is improving. I recently had 2 orders in May (9th & 10th), I received my items on May 26 (Shipped May 11) & on May 23 (Shipped May 14). Not bad at all (at least to me). Though I cannot comment on my other orders that I have not received yet..... (keeping my fingers crossed, I hope I didn't speak too soon)

As for customer service, I have been quite "lucky" I guess, as they had been very helpful to me so far. In addition, they are also fast to offer me "store credit" if they made a mistake . I sincerely believed they are "trying"! Try to make use of their Live help if possible, I think it will save you lots of frustration.

To be fair to them, I think we should only "blame" them if it is not being "processed", once it's stated "shipped", I think they don't have much control (unless they own the post office ). I also noticed that if you have a tracking number for your order, it seems a bit faster (Read somewhere that you'll automatically get one if items are >US$20, I think). So I would say 2-3 weeks from the day it says "shipped" should be a good estimate.

I guess at the end of the day I would still recommend DX. Most importantly, my personal opinion is that with the power of Forums & Internet, I hope we can help each other find out Genuine/REAL business sites where they really want to do long term business and avoid falling prey to con-men /fake sites.

5/28/2012: I made 3 orders on saturday (5/26/2012), 1h after ordering decided to replace products from one order and opened CSE ticket for that, today I recieved 3 e-mails: 2 orders (7 products in total) shipped, 1 product replacement done (although it is in "Waiting for supplier" status).

This looks very promising :)

Edit on 5/30/2012: no way, today I got 3rd e-mail, 3/3 orders shipped, that must be some kind of record :D

I ordered magnets in February too. Ordered on 02/15/12 - shipped 04/29/12 - received 05/29/12 Wrong magnets! I ordered 100 / 10mm and received 20 / 8mm magnets. DX wants to refund the difference at the 20 price

It is like my order doesn't exist. Even their own Cs suggest I should cancel it. I think it is payback for filing a previous paypal claim.

Ordered a stainless Ultrafire C3 on May 14, they shipped on May 16, and it arrived May 31. That's pretty quick! The plan was to tear the light up as a host, but it is actually pretty decent.

I think with DX if they can ship in the time they say, then great. If not, cancel the order.

a DX order which took 3.5 months in total and was 1.0 month in transit?? OMG!!

One mo. shipping is a record for me. It looks like they might send the correct item and let me keep the mistake. ($3.00) The thing that got to me was waiting 3.5 mo. for the wrong parts. Maybe the bin was mislabeled? Received sku 4248 for sku 13516. The last response was this >> It’s ok. But we need check the products in our warehouse to avoid sending wrong product to you again. Could you please help to check back several days later?

It seems that they are getting a lot faster these days...

I can say they are improving, SOMEWHAT!!

I think I have experience almost all of the bad, except for those 3 months + shipments. I also had to open up a Paypal dispute on one order. However, it was resolved before it went to a claim. Since, then I have made 4 to 5 more orders..Three of those orders were lights, and two were for chargers and batteries. Those orders were filled with 2 to 4 weeks, and accurately too.

So, since being on the both sides of the fence, the good and the bad.. So far, they have improved in my book.

Hoping all BLF members DX orders are completed just as good as my lastlike mine or better..

I will never order from them again. I ordered a few cheap aaa lights on may 1st and i had to file a claim on their site after a week just to get them to ship. Doing so got me rush prossing. Yea rush my a** took another week to ship... Still no sign of shipment. I will be filing a paypal claim this week before 45 days lapses. I will never order anything fom them again. I undertand overseas shipping can take a long time. In fact i had one shipmnt from intl outdoor take 5 weeks. But i was in communication with hank the whole time. Dx just doesnt seem to care so i will shop elsewhere

I ordered a light two weeks ago and got a shipping tracking number last Friday for Hong Kong Post.

It’s been four days and the USPS and HK tracking both indicate that they have no record of that number. I’ve heard that some merchants use “fake” tracking numbers to stall for time.

What has been your experience with DX in this regard? How long should I wait?

I have NOT complained yet. I am giving it a few more days before I decide what to do.

Four days is nothing. Worldwide tracking is not really reliable, its a whole other story than tracking inside a country.

DHL, for example, usually shows the tracking number a few days before delivery..^^

I am experiencing major frustration with DealExtreme. After almost 3 weeks, I received my package from Hong Kong. The order for 5 items contained only 2 items. Of the 2 items, one was incorrect. Very poor and defective order fulfillment.

Trying to contact DealExtreme is an effort in futility. There website “CHAT” facility is a total joke and useless. You log on and the operator never responds. All you get are endless messages stating to please be patient but no one ever logs on to answer questions.
If you try to contact them by email, you can only use a preformated webpage that does not allow for any narrative or explanation of what the problem is. All they permit are photos of what you received and of the package face.

I have no resolution to this dilemma as yet. What I can state, is that I will NEVER purchase anything from DealExtreme again.

Me to, i NEVER order from them again,
a few weeks ago i ordered 2 501b flashlight
after two weeks still nothing, not shipped and not even in stock!
so i send an email to cancel my order, and they told me that i have to wait two weeks (until 22 september) and then i’m gonna receive an email from them wich i have to reply to get my refund on my PayPal account.
i don’t believed them because that smells like monkey bussiness, so i fill in a complaint on the PayPal website.
Today, 4 days later, i check my order status and there is written on 14 september (the day i complaint on PayPal website): Processing Paused due to Payment Complaint.
but they didn’t send me an email, or let me know when i get refunded, so today i put a full claim on them, i let you guys know what happens next.

in the past i had some problems with dinodirect too, but i complaint via PayPal, and the day after my money was refunded. not to bad.
in the future i Always order from focalprice, never had problems with them, and hkequipment, also very fast and good service.

Ordered Wednesday 26th Sept - received email tonight Saturday 29th Sept saying the full order has been shipped.
Now a little Gerbs waits eagerly for the mailman.
Will update when stuff arrives!

Goods from DX have taken up to 3 weeks to arrive after ordering - but considering I’m in a tiny country on the underneath of the world, I’m happy.

My only desire from them have been to improve their order status - if something is on backorder, or is not in stock, pop an ETA on the item status :slight_smile:

According to tracking - my DX package has not yet been sent.
However, Kaidomain order has left Hong Kong and is on its way!
Both packages ordered the same day, about an hour apart.

Im pleased to say that the last two orders placed with DX have got to the UK from China in a week. Amazing!

Maybe I just got lucky, as it can be a bit of a lottery sometimes.

Time to get modding!

Well, after reading some pros & cons about dx.com, I try my luck on my very first order with them.

Ordered, made payment on 10th Oct, sent notification & tracking number received on 12th Oct, lets see :slight_smile:

I've typically had good (although slow) results from DX, but I've been disappointed lately. In late September, I ordered a pair of sku.106796 drivers. I receieved the shipment, but it contained the incorrect drivers. I created a ticket and was told that the parts were out of stock at that time. I opted to wait for the correct parts to come available as I really like the mode configuration on this driver. I finally received the second shipment attempt and it also had the incorrect sku. In this case, both of the packets were labeled with the correct code for sku.106796 but contained sku.106797. As with the first shipment, the sticker showing the correct sku code was placed on top of the original sticker showing the sku for the incorrect item that was shipped.

I've also had a separate order I had to cancel as it had gone for over a month without shipping and I no longer needed the parts. In that case, the DX support staff informed me that the supplier "is short of raw material so the item is not ready".

DX turnaround times really improved over the summer and I was regaining confidence in them, but now they are slipping again...
