Any good 18650 chargers with type-c input?

Looking for 18650 charger with type-c input.
Xtar PB2S would be perfect, but it charges at 2A which is too high for my 18650 high capacity cells.
Thanks.

Search for tp4056 on AliExpress and choose a board with a type-C input
for example
If you want you can solder it to a simple 18650 battery holder

For your requirements of 18650 charger with type-c input, take a look at our VC4L charger

some chargers I notice that use USB-C input (note that most of them will not work with USB-C-to-USB-C cables (unless has some resistor?), but works with USB-A to USB-C cables.

eg. these chargers accept type-C input

- Astrolux SC01 (rebranded Yonii TC1) = single-bay charger (2Amp only)

- Astrolux SC02 (rebrand of Yoni ???) = dual-bay charger

- Astrolux VC04 (rebranded Yonii D4S) = 4-bay charger, accepts 3 input-types (has micro-USB, USB-C and even an Apple lightning port)

- Liitokala Lii-M4 = 4-bay charger

- Xtar VC8 = 8-bay charger (can use QuickCharger 2.0/9v input)

  • Xtar ST2 = 2-bay “very very fast” charger (can use QuickCharge or USB-Power Delivery input) = this unit works with USB-C to USB-C (required to take advantage of USB-PD)

There would likely be others, but these are the ones I’ve noticed before.
Of the above, the Astrolux SC01 and Xtar ST2 support Li-Ion batteries only, while the others mentioned support both Li-Ion & NiMh.

usually they do not really have an ‘input’
i mean they do, but they already come with their own wall wart
what would usb-c add?

While not my preferred charging rate for 18650s, but 2A charging is certainly in wheelhouse for high cap 18650s at just over .5C.

Chris

yeah but the power supply that comes with a charger, should be able to supply the current needed for what it can do

giving it more at the input [60 watt usb-c] or whatever, isn;t going to give it more output

wle

also i think my 5 year old charger can do 2A on 4 slots same time…

$0.34 + $1.41, a little time and solder. Now thats a BLF special!

Totally dependent on the particular charger. I think that my two Opus BT-3400s do two at 1500mA and 2000mA, but 4 at 1A, with a 3A WW.

This has appeared recently on Convoy Flashlight Store on AliExpress:

Yonii TC1 Charger

^ Thanks for the heads up & link.

All and I really mean all USB chargers should be updated to Type C port.

This on aliexpress seems like the only one unfortunately…

Good score for Simon. Hope it is good one :+1:

Only minus is it looks like it only does 2A charge rate?

Yes. I agree…
If I could pick it would be 1A.
But 2A shouldn’t harm high current cells like Samsung INR 18650 30Q

Yeah, based on the datasheet the 30Q is rated for “fast charge” at 4A and the 35E is rated for a 2A “fast charge”.

Still though, I agree that 1-1.5A would be my preference as well. Better yet, a selector switch or exposed jumper.

I suppose using an older power supply that can only output 1A would work.
