Convoy T3? What new goodies does Simon have in store?

I mistyped, it should have said 12 mode driver.

Is a 15mm size boost driver?
Have some light to upgrade

I hope they bore the light just a tad more, and extend the positive contact a bit more. Canā€™t use flat top 14500 with my old T2, and couldnā€™t get my protected keeppower to fit

If you feel like elaborating, I would be interested in hearing why. I got the 4 group driver on my C8+ because I heard there could be a bug on the 12 mode. What makes the 12 mode driver so good?

In a PM Simon did confirm that the tube is slightly larger bore.

Seems like they have been released already (with 4 modes driver, only)

I wouldnā€™t mind the 4 mode driver for this light but it still has memory mode that I donā€™t like on small lights like this.

Yeah, I am 12mode-only anymore due to the ability to disable mode memory.

That bug was fixed many moons ago

Is the T3 a 16mm mcpcb? Or still a pain in my arse 14.5mm like T2. Figured I would ask here, Iā€™ve bugged Simon way to much

Iā€™m pretty sure no one has a T3 yet. It just came out and shipping via slow boat takes a while.

Could you elaborate please? I have one 12-group driver installed a year ago in a M21B which i donā€™t use very often and I notice that it sometimes resets to group 1 with mode memory, despite me setting it to group 6 without mode memory. Is this the bug you are talking about, or is it something else?

Simon updated his T3 photos. Looks to be a T2 body, with newly designed knurling.

Iā€™d be willing to bet battery tube & parts are interchangeable with T2!

I really hope it does not have bad PWM like the T2.

Also, can a lighted switch be used on it ?

Aw man. I was hoping it would be a smaller/slimmer body. The T2 is one of the largest 1xAA lights on the market.

I turned my back for a minute and apparently a lot of progress happened. Is there a summary/review/Wiki available?

I have a surprisingly large collection of outdated drivers I never got round to installing, why not add some more?

The recent T2 driver does not have any PWM. The original did have bad PWM.

looks like the 12 mode T3 is now available.

Couple dollars more for the 12-modeā€¦says $18 and change for me. I wonder if heā€™ll offer just the driver soon. The multi-angle-pattern knurling on this just isnā€™t grabbing me but I like the blue and red colorsā€¦trying not to click the buy button.

Hank - someone correct me if Iā€™m wrong but the current 12-mode driver is basically like the previous Biscotti versions - he borrowed/adapted that firmware when he moved to a new driver manufacturer not too long ago.

What are the difference between 4-modes and 12-modes? Thank you in advance.
