NIGHTWATCH flashlights

Nightwatch is on my radar considering Lumintop keeps swapping parts to make the light more profitable.

I got all mine from Neal with the new light 15% discount. I have NSX3, NSX4 and NI40 Stalker SBT90. I too LOVE their designs. They are ultra basic lights, but damn it if they don’t take heat dispersal seriously. All their lights focus on it. I feel like I never notice their “high” drop. They are all steady lights. Can’t say enough about them. I honestly feel so satisfied with my collection, especially my Nightwatch’s, but you guys are making it damn near impossible not to pull the damn trigger on one of these with the new emitters, so please…STOP IT.

I agree, wonderful hosts. Ripe for upgrade basically indefinitely. Which means you can wait for the perfect emitter

I’m wishing for a 26800 NI40. Can anybody confirm if the 26800 tube fits it? Also wish the tailcap had HD2010 style relief cuts.

I’ve thought that a maxed out SFT70 would be nice in this host, or an upcoming 50.3HI in NW. Even an SFT40 running 10A would be well suited here IMO. The 90.2 and beyond require more amps than a single battery can consistently deliver. I don’t like lights that require a constantly topped off cell to reach max performance. YMMV.

Another Nightwatch that I wish was still around is the NS22 21700.

If you know Chinese you can probably buy them off taobao, but caveat emptor on that.

My nsx4e needs sft40s. Just a bit to floody for me. I might put relief cuts in the tailcap, with a file. I have on other lights and with a lot of care and a bit of polishing it can look nice.

This is the newest leds specification table of NIGHTWATCH. :smiling_imp:

Once again, the light emitting area isn’t accurate in that table for most of the 3535 and 5050 emitters at least.

Wow. Amazing work! Old Lumens would be proud.

thanks. took hours. I don’t think nsx4e tailcap is large enough to do more than 2 and retain tail stand. We’ll see this winter…

Two spam posts I marked as spam, one disappeared, but the other one is still here. Oh well. Whatever. Nevermind.

Bluzie has posted a beamshot of the Ni03 SFN55.2. This beamshot is valuable, because the beamshot can be compared with many other beamshots of many other lights taken by the same person in the same location under the same conditions.

NSX4E and NI40 have same tube and tailcup, the issu is on the head NSX4E have more deeper head (less deep reflector for same global size).
SFS80 LED are unbelivable.
For 65$ NSX4E+26800cell+ charger is a very nice deal (I only don’t use charger, I’ve 2 Nitecore Ui1).
I’ve take some pics today for start a thread about this light.

Quick pic for show the head difference.

But , yes the NI40 host is near perfection SBT 90.2 inside for basic version around and under 5 degres celcius outside, you can wait for overheat

not a fan of ‘big-head’ lights

need to go in pocket

Saw this Nightwatch Chaos.

Initial turn on 29-30k possible on the chinese 21700s. (about usd 4.70 for 2pcs).
50 usd for the Chaos.

Not a fan of the format / CCT / yada yada, but it is what it is. usd 100 for 2pcs in both hands gets you past Acebeam X50 territory.

Too bad, OOS now, i think there was still stock 2 weeks ago.
Good price to have 1 in the collection even if it’s just for fun. Also can only buy 21700 cells with lights off TB so that’s another +ve.

Nealsgadgets is selling this same light…

Neal also has the Nightwatch NS59 V1 with 9 of these new emitters, SFQ55’s I believe. It uses two 21700 in series and makes 23,400 lumens on my box, getting seriously hot in a hurry!

Surprised at how nice the tint is, big hot spot area of course but useful in a lot of scenarios.

Nice build on this one, heavily finned like the other Nightwatch lights I’ve had.

These are the kind of lights that make this hobby so darned addictive!

Edit: model and emitter corrections

Are there suitable 21700 cells for continuous 40A on Turbo with a Nightwatch Chaos NS59v2?

EDIT: I measured 48.3A on Turbo. :open_mouth:

The previous version reached 77 C:

Molicel P42A is 30A continuous.
Samsung 50S is 20A continuous.
Lishen?

You can use only use button tops in this light. I tried 30t, 40t and they don’t make contact for series. You can use any other button top cell, but expect a drop in output.

Cool, I see a MSI laptop in the background, I’m sure it’s a GF66

Solder blob a flat top cell, they all work.

40T is ideal. Heat in the head of the light will be the largest issue, and in very short order!
