I spotted and ordered the Lii-600 from AliExpress during their 11.11 sale. The price was just a bit over $30 (although there was an additional $10 shipping fee to my country).
So far I’ve been trying it out. It looks like a contender to the Vapcell S4 Plus, but is missing these features of the S4 Plus…
I’ll give some of my impressions of the Lii-600 (as compared to S4 Plus):
1) Vapcell S4 Plus has a USB-out powerbank feature ; the Lii-600 does not.
2) Vapcell S4 Plus fits long protected 21700 batteries ; the Lii-600 fits unprotected 21700 batteries, but is not long enough for longer protected 21700
(I feel that this is a missed opportunity for the Lii-600 since many other new chargers, eg from Nitecore, Miboxer, and other less known brands, now have longer slots that fit protected 21700 batteries)
3) Vapcell S4 Plus max discharge rate is 1A for outer 2 slots, and 0.5A for inner 2 slots ; Lii-600 max discharge rate is 0.75A for all 4 slots (configurable discharge rate of 0.25A, 0.5A, 0.75A).
Both S4 Plus and Lii-600 has “Discharge” only mode (separate from the Capacity Test mode), although the discharge rate during Test mode for S4 Plus does not appear to be user-controllable (eg. I can’t determine when does it use 1A discharge rate and when does it use 0.5A discharge rate, even when I’m using the outer slots that can accommodate 1A discharge rate).
On the Lii-600, the discharge current during Test mode will depend on the selected Charge current. (based on manual, 1.5A selected charge current results in 0.75A discharge current ; 1A charge current becomes 0.5A discharge current ; 0.5A or lower charge current becomes 0.25A discharge current)
Another nice thing is on Test mode: the Charged & Discharged Capacity are viewable. Also, while in Test mode, once the Discharge portion of the test has been done, the Discharged Capacity is viewable (by pressing the slot number touchscreen button) - no need to wait for charging to finish. (it will continue to charge to full).
When Test mode is done (Charge to full -> Discharge -> Charge), the screen display can be toggled to show the Discharge capacity and the Charged capacity (I believe the S4 Plus only shows Discharged capacity when doing Test mode)
4) the Lii-600 now has a temperature sensor for each slot (temperature shown on the screen display), similar to Vapcell S4 Plus.
5) the Lii-600 display screen can be “dimmed” or can be set to “always ON”
(in comparison, the earlier S4 Plus will always dim down after a little amount of time (becomes difficult to read) ; but the new revision of S4 Plus can now be configured to auto-dim down or to be ‘always ON’)
6) Lii-600 now has battery internal resistance display which seems to be more consistent (but appears quite low, when comparing to the MC3000) than the Lii-500 Engr (where it had been quite erratic)
7) With an IR measurement, the Lii-600 now has Auto/Manual charge current (it defaults to Auto - meaning will auto-select charge current based on internal resistance test), but user can press Current to change to Manual charge current.
8) both S4 Plus and Lii-600 can charge 4 slots at 3A max
9) Both the power adapters of the S4 Plus and the Lii-600 have a whining sound when in a somewhat quiet environment…
