The flashlight comes in a majestic carrying case.

The case is leather-wrapped and has a carrying handle on its upper side.

The flashlight is seated into some laser-cut foam along with its accessories.
I have to admit that this must be the most luxurious case I've ever encountered

The following accessories are included with the Imalent MS18.

  • Wall charger
  • 2 x replacement o-rings
  • Shoulder strap
  • User manual

Judging by the size of the flashlight, the shoulder strap is going to come in handy.
The strap is made out of nylon and feels quite durable.
It's attached to the flashlight using two spring loaded keyrings.

The included charger seems quality made.
Its back has a brushed metal finish. Its specifications are the following:
Input: 100-240V, Output: 19V, 2.0A

The size and weight of the flashlight is really impressive.

The MS18 comes with matte black anodization and a smooth body.
The overall fit and finish of my unit is excellent.

It's operated via an e-switch that is mounted in the lower part of the head.
The switch is metallic and provides some nice tactile feedback.

Near the switch, one finds an OLED display.
The display will show information regarding the current output level and the battery's voltage.

It's worth noting that the voltage of the battery can be displayed even if the flashlight is turned off.

Being a high power flashlight, the manufacturer has also included two fans on each side of the head.
The fans are configured in a push-pull fashion in order to achieve maximum cooling efficiency.

The manufacturer has also included a polished aluminum anchoring point in the middle of the head.
This is where the shoulder strap is attached.

The front part of the head contains a sandblasted metal bezel, which is used to protected the AR coated glass lens.

The head houses 18 x Cree XHP70.2 emitters along with an orange peel reflector.
As expected, all of the emitters are perfectly centered.

The rear side of the head contains a very thick copper spring.

The tail of the flashlight contains a machined metal plate.
Being completely flat, the plate allows the flashlight to tailstand.

By untwisting the back plate, one gets access to the charging interface.

An indicator LED is surrounding the charging interface.
Charging: Red, Full: Green

The MS18 comes with a proprietary battery pack, that's consisted out of 8 x 21700 cells.

The threads of the flashlight are cleanly cut and arrived nicely lubricated.

User Interface

The Imalent MS18 comes with a pretty straight forward user interface.
Here's all the actions supported by the flashlight's firmware.

Power on/off: Single press.
Mode cycle: Long press ( Low > Middle Low > Middle I > Middle II > High I > High II > High III > Turbo > Low > ...)
Turbo: Double press from anywhere.
Strobe: Double press from Turbo.
Voltage check: Triple press from anywhere.
Fan-only mode: Quaruple press while off.
Lock / Unlock: Quintuple press while off.

Mode memory is present.
Low-Voltage Warning and Low-Voltage Protection is also present, as the flashlight will flash 10times every 60 seconds when the battery's voltage < 11.6V

Output

Here's my output measurements for the Imalent MS18.

As you can see, the flashlight pushes 81900 lumen on Turbo.
Such output numbers are extremely impressive - even for flashlight enthusiasts.
Please note that my measuring equipment isn't calibrated for such massive outputs so I can't guarantee that my results are totally accurate, but they should be around the correct ballpark.

Outdoor Beamshots

Here's a few impressive outdoor beamshots of the MS18.

Bottom Line

The Imalent MS18 is an extremely impressive flashlight - most probably the most impressive I've ever encountered so far.
It's got a massive output and achieves great throw using its sheer power.

Thank you for your review. I got my MS18 Oct, 21, 2019, almost two years ago. It is a great light. I like it a lot. No light collection is complete without it.

I’m still waiting for this to go on a huge sale. Or at least a newer more powerful version….

Thanks for the review. I like the simple format and all the pictures.

It’s on the pricey side, but if one’s got money to spare, then it’s definitely worth having

The money I save by eating only plain, simple, whole, fresh healthy food I spend on flashlights. In order to maintain my diet, I have to keep buying flashlights. If I stop buying flashlights, I will loose my good health.

The MS18 is still the King of Lumens, after more than two years.

Hahaha, that’s like the best excuse I’ve heard in a while

I actually asked Imalent if any coupon codes were available, and they informed that currently there’s the following coupon (10%): BTF10
If there’s interest in this, I might as well ask them if they’ll be organizing any group buys.
