HAIKELITE MT41 4*W2 OSRAM

Well that’s…confusing. Maybe I just have to wait until it arrives to see what will fit in there. Though I suppose the safest bet would be to follow the manual and just get 4x button top P26As.

Maybe your VTC5As have slightly protruding flat tops? Maybe you could take a pic of the contacts in the light?

Thanks to everyone for your help so far.

My Molicel P28A are button tops, I modified them with very little money by purchasing the buttons and then the PVC to cover them on AliExpress.

here are some photos from me - still unable to capture decent range shot, because in my country every evening is misty right now (warm days, cold nights), but at keast you can check beam profile

thanx, have to consider this one.

8a per LED with Osram? never thought it can consume that much...

Nice! Any way you can do a candela measurement?

I’m sorry, but I can’t. I even don’t have decent app for lumen measurement with runtime graphs on iOS. Maybe someone could recommend me something? I’m thinking about invest some $$ in gear this kind.

I have the MT41, and I also have the Haikelite MT40, I could compare it to the Astrolux MF02 (XHP35 HI) and the Fireflies T9R (Osram CULNM1) that I also have.

But I tell you a quick conclusion, the MT41 is a great buy.

tonight I found good air quality outside and shot some beam. Here is comparison of Emisar D4Sv2 with 4xosram W2 and our Haikelite MT41 with the same led - guess which is which :sunglasses:

Also tonight was first time I lit my MT41 powered by Murata VTC5A - I’m really impressed with turbo performance on those green batteries.

You can spend about 25€ for a decent lux meter on Aliexpress like the uni-t ut383S. I use it and it’s a decent meter for cheap.Ut383S $28.43 27%OFF | UNI-T UT383S Light Meter 200,000 LUX Digital Luxmeter Luminance Lux Fc Test Max Min Illuminometers Photometer 淘宝网 - 淘!我喜欢

Exactly they are the best batteries that you could use together with the Molicel P26A or P26A that I use on the MT41 which still remains a great flashlight!

...or P28A

Hi Fedro,

For the comparison, just to clarify is the Noctigon K1 version you have the one with the SBT90.2? I’m surprised it outperforms the L7 which is a good performer in it’s own right, just under 1300m of throw from 1lumen’s review.

Hello I confirm that Noctigon K1 SBT90.2 is superior to the L7 even if slightly despite the only 21700 battery which in any case must necessarily be of excellent quality in fact I use Molicel P42A, probably this is due to a better conceived dish and to a driver of undoubted quality. I recently bought Amutorch XT65 SBT90.2 and this too has proved superior to the L7, this does not mean that the L7 is a product not to buy, on the contrary it is certainly a great product and I am delighted to have it on the showcase but in the wake of this other manufacturers have sharpened their weapons and are responding with increasingly performing products.

What is the distance to the high voltage support. And what is the distance to the crane?

both about 500m

My MT41 arrived. I ordered from aliexpress. It looks like the lantern was collected by homeless people in the basement. The reflector is covered with small scratches. A half-erased fingerprint is visible inside the reflector. Most likely rubbed with a rag. Convoy 4X18A SBT90.2 hits a little further. Possibly due to reflector damage, did not outperform 4X18A. Used original Murata VTC6 batteries.

What is the beam profile like compared to Convoy 4X18A SBT90.2? Is it a bit more floody?

The 4x18A beam is more ideal, and wider, and the side illumination is brighter. The shade is warmer. The MT41 beam is roughly comparable to the Astrolux FT03 SST40 beam. I would prefer convoy.

Let’s agree that you got a bad reflector. Because calling it an sst40 is not accurate at all. I believe you that it’s accurate on your light, not calling you a liar in the slightest. Only saying that your description does not apply to a properly functioning MT41. Clearly you’re having dirty or uncentered reflector issues. Someone may very well have stuck their finger in there to fix the reflector because it was obviously off, and they could’ve still failed to actually fix it.

A properly working MT41 is very much akin to an SBT90.2. Even out performs many of the SBT90 lights on the market. FT03 SST40 is def not doing that, so it’s likely that your light is just not functioning as it’s supposed to.

Try requesting a new head. Show them the issues if you can capture them, and if they don’t help or you’re ignored, file a PayPal claim (hopefully you used PayPal).

I take my lights golfing on those Super twilight rounds, and I can tell you with a certainty that it is a tight ass beam all the way down range, and is pretty much the same width as an SBT90.

The spill is interesting, like flower petals (not round at all), but the beam is essentially the same size as a 1200 meter+ SBT90 beam. Only difference is tint, and that the SBT90’s beam is perfectly round. But they are essentially interchangeable lights. they do the same thing. But’ I feel like the MT41 has a little more visibility outside of it’s hotspot at distance, it gives you a slight bit extra. Then around you, the spills petals not being round makes them very usefully maneuverable. I could light a small plant only, while the rest of the spill is hitting the ground. You kinda have half-circle spotlights around the edges of the spill that let you select what you want you light without bothering other people with the rest of the beam, I don’t know exactly how to describe it, but I find it useful. Also, if someone just wants a perfectly round beam and hotspot, thats where SBT90 is the obvious choice. I’ve used this light a lot and in conjunction with my other SBT90 lights, and they behave exactly the same, they just look very different doing it.

Good luck with yours. I hope you can find a way to get that fixed, or at least your money back.

Edit: Quick note - MT41 is brighter than SBT90 lights too, FT03 SST40 is not even half as bright as MT41
