Amazon Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

I read about this most recent edition of the ban hammer for policy violators a little while ago (I think the third round this year, but this time it was a BUNCH of them)…now some are attempting to sue, which I don’t suppose will get them anywhere at all.

I hope this doesn’t happen to some of our flashlight sellers, some of which clearly break and bend the rules regarding reviews/ratings/compensation behind the scenes.

Looks like some of the RovyVon lights have good discounts on Amazon

Yup, some of the ones that I like are 32% off right now.

Got 2 Red Nichia today - great deal !

Neither of the included charge cables works (just a point of note)
1 light is DOA

Received both my Red Nicha’s also. Unfortunately, one of the USB to Lightning adapters doesn’t work to charge my iPhone 6Plus, but the second one does.
Aside from that, I really like the lights. My wife actually grabbed one of them too.

Try letting it charge for a while. I had one arrive below LVP and it seemed DOA but just needed a charge. If your finger is small enough you CAN turn it on when it’s plugged in to test, even when battery is below LVP threshold.

I am having a problem with the "12V cigarette lighter socket" on the "AFTIME 300W Portable Power Station" that I recently purchased using the discounts mentioned in this thread.

Except for one old small cell phone car charger, the "12V cigarette lighter socket" does not work with most of my devices (all requiring less than 5A, with most needing just 1A max). I have other portable power stations (from different manufacturers) and these same devices work fine on those power stations.

On the AFTIME Power Station, I get a flashing "ERR" DC Output message when I try to use the "Car Charger Output", even when that is the only item attached to the power station and no other ports are being used.

For some devices, if I hold down the "DC power button" after the flashing "ERR" occurs (while the device is still connected) until the AFTIME Power Station reboots, the device will start getting power and work, but for most of my devices I cannot clear the flashing "ERR" DC Output message while the device is plugged in and if I clear the error while the device unplugged, I get the error again when I reconnect the device.

Has anyone else who purchased this AFTIME Power Station successfully tested the "12V cigarette lighter socket" on various devices?

That is the 1st thing I checked … nuttin.
I’ll charge it again for gits and shiggles.

I just tested a random car charger with LCD voltage readout and it’s working. It seems redundant since the device itself has USB but it’s the quickest thing I could find.

Curious what devices are you trying to plug in?

For the penlight Check that the the charge light comes on. One of mine has a weird port and is super fussy.

These were my first rovyvon lights and I’m becoming less impressed with the overall quality. Was looking at a copper A9 because it’s on sale but not feeling like its worth it at this point

Don’t waste your money on that A9.
Disappointed in mine.

Just tested mine with a low draw and old dashCam and also an 8 year old O2 Cool 10” 12v and also rechargeable fan. Both worked perfectly. Sorry to hear you’re having a problem with yours.

Oh well I bought both the A9 and the A9 Pro in copper —that’s the beauty part about Amazon — Return Policy

Thank you forum members "koss" and "Richie086" for your results from testing the "12V cigarette lighter socket" on the AFTIME Power Station.

The devices I have (~1A max load) that do not initially work and cause the AFTIME Power Station to display the "ERR" DC Output message, but that do start to work after I reboot the AFTIME Power Station with the device still connected are two different Anker USB car chargers two different OPUS battery chargers and my Garmin Car GPS.

The devices I have that will not work at all with the "12V cigarette lighter socket" on the AFTIME Power Station(even after a reboot while connected) are a Chain Saw Sharpener (a miniature Die Grinder) and a Sony CD Boom Box.

The only device I really want to work is the Chain Saw Sharpener. The other devices were used for testing to try and figure out why the Chain Saw Sharpener (~5A max load at startup) would not work on this particular Power Station when it works fine on other similar size Power Stations.

Maybe the "12V cigarette lighter socket" on my particular AFTIME cannot support the 10A advertised load specification, but what surprised me the most was the flashing "ERR" failure message when I plug in a device if the AFTIME is "ON", but I do not get the failure or failure message if I plug in while the AFTIME is "OFF" and then turn it "ON", and I do not get the failure after a reboot when the failure message is displayed. The failure occurs even when the devices I am plugging in do not have their normal load applied (the USB car chargers are not connected to anything and the OPUS and Garmin vehicle power cords are not connected to their devices).

So you have something like this? Amazon.com
Do you have a cord with a barrel plug you can sacrifice and either use the alligator clips or jerry rig it to the 12 DC out plug?
Kind of sounds like something is wrong with your unit, you can see if they’ll swap if not buy another the the higher current price and return the bad one one in its place.

Yes that's exactly the sharpener I use, but I don't have a barrel plug to test the other DC outlet jack on the AFTIME Power Station.

I have sent a message to AFTIME through Amazon about this issue and will see what happens. Was just curious if anyone else had this problem. Other than that the power station works fine.

Hmm...

It says it has a CREE emitter, but not which one.

Also, no lumen estimates, and no reviews.

Still, might be good.

Thanks! Ever since the og inova x5, I’m a sucker for a smooth stick of light. I’ll post what it’s like when it arrives.
