Another C2

Well, scored another C2-HA recently and it just arrived. Great but not perfect condition (one ding in ano). Forgot how nice a P60 incan module is, no wonder SF took the market back in the day. Anyways I swapped a nice stainless lens ring on and not sure what to do now. Figure I can think of a few options but what I’m trying to do is maximize general purpose usability while remaining drop dead reliable.

1. Keep the P60 and 2xCR123 and just each batteries
2. Lumensfactory incan bulb for 1x16650
3. Lumensfactory drop in. I would do the single stage probably in 319A as my previous experience is very positive.
4. Malkoff. This is probably the only real option. Would just need to decide N vs W and L vs LL. Leaning towards M61NLL. The M361 would be nice but my other one really doesn’t play that well with the Z41 (which I will be keeping).
5. Other custom made P60. Most are going to be far more than the malkoff.
6. DIY. This remains, as always, an exceptional option. 219B or whatever the latest favorite is and tons of drivers out there. Pills are still out there, but getting scare. Can’t think of a reason not to go this route other than the drop dead part of my reliability criteria.
7. Well I suppose there is a #7, also. I could run a P91 with 2x16340 but seems like those P91 are getting TOUGH to find and increasing in price. Probably better to get a LF bulb.

Edit: I might have to settle on Malkoff, but I’d love to find a two mode drop in without memory. None offered from Malkoff or Lumensfactory, or even customlites.

You might get better feedback on CPF than here. It took me a minute to figure out that this is a Surefire light.

True enough, but I figure that’ll just get a bunch of Malkoff recommendations… as much as I like Malkoff (and will likely go that route) thats not the feedback I’m looking for.

I’d go for kiriba-ru P60 pill (alu or copper) and make my own module.

KDLITKER Triple Cree XP-L? clearly not the same league as a Malcoff, but seems ok for $20

Ended up doing the new SST-20 M61NL for it a while back. Exciting? Not really. But awesome none the less.
