Emisar D3AA is available now

While I’m guessing, will this new light have an M in the name?

He does have it in the dm11 directory, so that’s probably its name.

Hank can you please use the 90+ CRI version for XHP35. I know it might sacrifice some lumens but quality CRI over anything would be much appreciated over minimal output increase. We would pay a few bucks more to get the best emitter.

What is the believed advantage over the B35AM?

Also would like to know the lumen to candela ratio with the nichia B35AM?

Lm/mm² for the 70CRI versions at peak output (data from eurekatronix and koef3 data)

B35 - 320

XHP35 HI - 475

Assuming the same relative outputs for hiCRI, XHP may out throw the Nichia by a factor of 1.5:1 in terms of cd/lm.

Throw distance would be something like 1.2:1 in m/lm

Looks awesome! I’m really excited for this light, it seems to have an excellent blend of features. In particular AUX under the large optic is really cool!
Sorry if it’s been stated already, but what kind of performance should we expect? With this size optic and an XHP35, what sort of intensity will it be able to produce?

Just spoke to Hank via email about B35 and he confirmed B35AM will be used instead of AR.

Good choice, lots of CCT available with AM.

I have them in sw30,35,40,45,50,57 & 65. All looking great and what’s most important, R9080 :-)

Cool white xhp35 around 75kcd and sst40 in the 60kcd range, b35am around 30kcd, sft40 around 100kcd.

Note that these are conservative figures and could be (likely) 30% higher, but ratios should be roughly accurate.

Hank, have you given any thought to GT-FC40 LED, either in this host or any others? Really want that LED in an Emisar/Noctigon product!

The throw could be a bit lower than expected for the XHP35 and B35AM versions, since in order to eliminate the black hole,
we use slightly frosted optic. Other LEDs versions like Osram, SFT40 stilll use the small angle optic in order to reach longer throw.

And may the post count multiply

Thanks for the picture and feedback on figures. Looking forward to this one!

Hank, is it going to be available in TiCu also?

Wallets cry out again with each picture posted

Will you have the sft40 5000k?

Wow… it’s beautiful! I can’t wait to try it out, looks like a great design!

OH mighty Luxwad, may I ask which emitter you are leaning towards? I was initially excited about the B35AM, but am worried the output would be underwhelming. Maybe thinking sft40

What a beautiful light. The knurling on the tube looks very pronounced, how does it feel? Does it have USB charging?

That is the most beautiful flashlight I've ever seen! The color, the knurling on the battery tube, the head design, the lighted switch, everything looks so perfect together Hank! Really well executed design and what looks like a thought out design.

I can't wait to buy five of them!

Hank, green is one of my favorite colors for flashlights..

BUT...

A NEW COLOR option for the completely new design light?!?

-----------------------------

my vote goes for:

Dark Gray

Green

Orange

Orange would contrast all of your other colors, so it would be different enough to justify making a new color.

and no need for black, anyone who wants a black flashlight can literally buy any other flashlight in the world. And your dark gray is so nice that I think people that want black would be happy with that.

Very very nice Hank!

Other than the knurling differences, will it be using the same tube as the K1? i.e. 21700 with built in charging?
