Sofirn IF22A Review / Drone Mounted Footage

Awesome video!

Did the thermal regulation kick in a bit early with Turbo?

2 minutes it steps down, but no stepping down on the drone, a double click went straight to moonlight once I landed, if it had stepped down it would of jumped to Turbo

Nice! Perfect for cold nights.

Great video thanks for sharing. Lovely farm land where you live.

Maybe you could edit your title to add that you also compared the beav shots of 4 flashlights, that was quite interesting also in addition to the drone flight.

Does the drone bother the animals or do they ignore it?

Awesome footage. The drone really defines how tight that beam is without reflective splash when viewed from ground level. Would love to see the reflector version from the air.

Nice work.

Yes, I asked for both versions and Sofirn agreed, parcel shows up with just the IF22A :frowning:

I had a couple guys on the Sofirn FB group tell me that drone footage is completely useless in a review, it’s a light to use on the ground! If no one else is going to use it on a drone it’s just stupid.

Ended up deleting that drone beamshot from the group over it roughly a week ago. I was on the fence about it afterwards, but everyone on Reddit loved my posts so there you have it, I included it, why not.

Wth, google the word “Beav” lol

What does it mean in your mind, because I highly doubt it’s the definition on Urban Dictionary, it was the first result too.

They’re not too bad since we use it regularly to check on them, mostly the sheep during lambing or getting them down off the hills

Drone footage is good.

fat finger typo—“Beam”

Nice video

Could you measure the parasitic drain when off?

In my two examples it oscillates between 95 and 125 µA. I guess it might be related to the powerbank boost circuit. Will check with an oscilloscope tomorrow.

Thanks, that is low enough to not be a problem.

Drone footage was super cool. Not very practical for me, but who cares? Awesome work.

Did you take any tailcap amp readings? Sorry if you did and I missed it.

One thing that I would find interesting is using the drone to image the target being illuminated from a far distance… that is saying the light is on a tripod / held stationary and the drone videos the beam near the target.

I really liked the drone shots!

“Beav shot”?

WooHoo!

that’s really cool! I’ve never seem beamshot like this before!

If I were down there, I would thought it was alien airship!
