[NEVERMIND] D4SV2, Cyan, XPL-Hi 5000k (other NW emitters considered)

I missed the boat on the Cyan D4SV2. It doesn’t look like Hank plans to restock, so I’m hoping someone out there doesn’t need/want theirs anymore. I am looking for a neutral white tint and relatively efficient emitters.

The Cyan D4Sv2 should be back in stock within the month, from what I’ve heard.

Huh weird. I had asked Hank if Black was going to be restocked and he said “No” and now only Green ones are left. I assumed he was phasing out that model. Maybe he changed his mind due to demand or maybe for some reason it’s just the Black model that’s going away.

There’s a tint ramping version of the D4Sv2 coming out soon. My guess is the cyan will be back for the launch.

Good to know. Where did you see this news? I hope the standard version comes back too. I don’t have any use for tint-ramping personally.

I think some people in the r/flashlight subreddit emailed him and that was his response. I’ll have to look around and see if I can find that comment/post. I also saw someone say he was looking into doing a 26800 body as well. I am kind of in the same boat, but I think a sw30 and an sw45 would be a cool mix. I’ve been holding off on getting one for a while, but I think my time has just about come.

I thought we had this conversation before and concluded tint ramping was impossible without a complete redesign of the driver and mcpcb. You may be thinking of another light. Of course it’s possible to use a mix of different led cct’s in the light, but then you just get that fixed mixture, not controllable ramping.

I do like the idea of a 26800 tube. Otoh I’m happy with my d4v2. 26800 tube would be more interesting if there were usb charging too, since there is no longer a high effort to keep the light small.

What is tint ramping?

Adjusting the color temperature emitted from the light by ramping current between two channels with different CCT emitters.

There will be tint ramping version D4S V2.
You can also choose to have two independent channels like K9.3.
When one channel with Osram W1 LED, the other channel with XP-L HD LED,
you can even choose the throw and flood channels, or to ramp between the throw and flood.

What if I don’t want the tint-ramping?
