I will set up a flashlight research institute and museum. My museum will display as many models of flashlights as possible. And researchers at my institute will try to learn best lessons/technical strength of all flashlights in order to develop and produce new budget-friendly flashlights for sale worldwide on a non-profit basis.
That will, I am afraid, involve a lot of works. And I hope US$100 million will be enough to last until the end of my life.
BTW, where to buy lotteries with the first prize of US$100 million?
I’d probably buy a few more flashlights that I’m curious about, but I’d instantly get a 10-car garage and build a studio apartment on top of it. Then I’d fill it with cars and bicycles and maybe some jet skis.
so far, the lotteries around here have not even come close to $100,000,000.00.
back when lotteries were “new”, i won $400.00 with a scratch-off.
filled up our cars, went to the grocery store, and then had to go home
since i spent all the money.
so: in answer to the question…the only change
i can think of would be to buy more batteries.
It wouldn’t change my flashlight buying habits. They really aren’t all that expensive compared to my other hobbies and anything I really wanted I could buy now.
I would help fund flashlight driver, host, and design research. The BLF effort wouldn’t have to be beholden to Lumintop or Sofirn for manufacturing. It wouldn’t be a money-making venture, but more about giving back to the flashlight community. Helping to make some of the dream flashlights become a reality and at reasonable prices.
I would meet with a financial planner and map out a lifetime budget.
Most people who win the lottery are bankrupt in 5-10 years. No joke
As for flashlights i would replace the ones i have with the newest technology upgrades, some are still XM-L. Since i no longer need money i would do giveaways for the ones i have now.
4 Lights have sentimental value, the rest would be upgraded.
Edit: I would also upgrade all my batteries, i only have 4 that are under 5 years old, and no 21700s at present.
I would certainly buy some of those extremely high lumen flashlights, some LEPs, some of the color LED flashlights, all the BLF flashlights, all the International Outdoor flashlights, etc.
Things would get a little crazy, I mean a lot more crazy around here!
I would also do a lot of independent reviews of the latest flashlights. Of course I would need to buy all the testing equipment. And really put them thru their paces. Like take them apart to see how they are built and highlight the strengths and weaknesses. And then give them away at the end.
One can dream, but like others, I also don’t buy lottery tickets.
I would use the money to produce something that has been buzzing around in my head…
Glambringeer: Helm of the sunfather
A helmet with many flashlights, LEDs, and various light emitting devices built into it. It would be powered by an Arduino or rassPi, not sure which. It would have a wired in control that you can hold in the hand, and turn on or off any of the lights. I think I would integrate fire too. I am positive that I could do this if only I had the time and money.
