Since Sunwayman is gone,someone know if there is compatibility with the Driver of RRT01 on the room head of V11R? In addition to the dimensions, it’s necessary to verify that the magnetic control will work correctly

The Sunwayman driver is a single pcb driver, the RRT is a double stack PCB driver. The top PCB on the RRT driver will not fit down inside the Sunwayman driver cavity, its to tall to fit. There’s not enough material there to remove to make it fit.
I have never found a driver replacement for the Sunwayman’s. The only option would be to purchase another V11R since they were the cheapest of the rotary lights. Most of the components on the driver can be purchased and replaced if bad. From what I understand about the datasheet of the 316BCG rotary position sensor it has to be programmed, so it may not be able to just be replaced. In my experiences the PAM2803 is what usually dies on these drivers. More info How to Mod Sunwayman V11R or V10R Driver For More Current

I would like a do over on the time the V11r went on sale on Ebay for $18. At the time I thought the tailswitch was stupid, so I did not buy any… lol
After I came to my senses… (I thought it was too good to be true, but it was true)… the deal was gone…

My V11R driver work but there is an issues at about 3/4 of rotation it start to flicker,during progression the problem disappears but brightness doesn’t increase anymore.That happen with AA doesn’t have lithium atm. I’ll read your guide,checking driver,contacts and the magnetic ring

I prefer the 2011 and 2012 original drivers. they are less likely to flicker visibly at sublumen outputs. The 2012 version added strobe.
2011 and 2012 drivers cannot be purchased anymore.
you can buy as a backup, either
2019 driver, it has higher output, but can flicker visibly at sublumen levels
or
2020 driver, it has same higher output, plus thermal step down, it can also flicker visibly at sublumen levels
Is the sub lumen flicker a known bug? Is it found on all the newer models?
it is not documented anywhere, just my own observation of a few of my lights, and confirmed by a friend who owns about 5 RRT-01, that he upgraded to 2020 drivers…

Luck of the draw. My 2012 RRT01 flickers on sub-lumen output, both my EYE10 and 2019 RRT01 don’t. All three have been serviced, i.e. taken apart completely, got new LEDs and silicon grease.
The flicker/pulsing is really strange. I estimate its frequency at about 20 Hz, but what generates 20 Hz? Or is it beating, i.e. two clocks being slightly different?
Modded a 2012 RRT01 today. Cree XPP 3000k 90cri, with a Kaidoman “18mm x 12mm” 5mm opening reflector. Only reason that is in quotations is because Ive ordered multiple 18x12-ish sized reflectors over the last couple of months and this one isn’t exactly the size of any of the reflectors listed on Kaidoman. I’ve included pics of the reflector measurements. I had to triple stack Convoy 16mm mcpcb’s (3535 size) to compensate for the height difference between the stock reflector and this new one. It worked out well as it brought the lip of the reflector right to the edge of the head so the bezel now closes all the way with the stock lens installed. I did not use a centering ring as the XPP in this small reflector focuses really well without one. I just installed kapton tape to cover the leads (and ended up covering the entire mcpcb with Kapton Tape).
Overall Im really happy with the mod. I always take the opportunity to use an XPP when I’m not worried about overdriving it. I had an SFT40 3000k in this yesterday with the stock reflector but there was a pronounced ring around the hotspot i couldn’t get rid of. Im pretty sure its bc of the design of the stock reflector. This setup will likely remain as its a pleasing beam and tint, and hi cri.

I have an RRT01 on the way. If I decide to try the grease in order to firm up the ring rotation, does it just come off after unscrewing the head, or is the dis-assembly more involved?

The 2020 RRT-01 has a lubrication hole in the control ring. No disassembly required. Just squeeze a bit of Nyogel 767a into the hole.

I picked up a Nite Eye Eye10 last night. Waiting for it to come in now. Pretty excited to see how it compares. Really enjoying these old rotaries, the rrt01 has been in the pocket for a couple days now. Wonder which led I should do on the eye10.

Domed 519a makes a nice Phat Hotspot w stock reflector, and Lots of high CRI Lumens 
if you dedome, or use smaller LEDs, the kaidomain reflector (Reflector #2 in post #5) helps get rid of the shadow ring in the spill
Awesome, thanks Jon. I forgot to ask the seller if that Eye10 comes with xml2 or 3535 emitter? I notice in the photo it has a OP reflector, which would be great if it came with 5050 bc then sft40 would also work well. the “2012” smo reflector does not like sft40, too many rings. Problem is finding a reflector in that size thats also 5050 capable, and OP.
