What are you snacking on now?

I like radishes...

with salt.

(It make them taste sweet.)

Farina with cheddar melted in. Nom nom nom…

or cheese grits (not Parmesan).

Only had grits once, tasted kinda soapy.

Farina with butter and salt alone is pretty good.

thanks for posting about radishes.
had some salt-free today.

Last of the baby taters, quartered, oiled, salted, baked.

Three at the bottom of the bag were already a-moulderin’, but the rest were soft but still good. Oh, I make sure of that.

I like when the starch converts to sugar, which makes ‘em sweeter, and baking/frying caramelises some of that, so they’re gooooood eatin’!

Made some chicken lo mein. First time I tried it, the noodles were good, but the chicken was bland (browned it in corn oil), then mixed it into the noodles).

This time, I browned, well, tanned, the chicken in a mix of corn and sesame oil, let it mostly cook through. Made the sauce, added that to the chicken in the pan to bubble away and “marinate” in a way (the chicken “leaks” when cooked), and only last added the noodles (ummm, regular spaghetti), and let pretty much all the rest of the liquid boil out.

Was soooooo goooooooood.

Finished with lemon-ginger tea. Think it’s Celestial Seasonings LG tea, which I thought was regular tea with added LG, but nope, it’s just LG, so the water remains pretty much clear. So one black and one LG. Woohoo!

So, the chicken lo-mein and tea to wash it down, felt like I was back in Choina again.

Well, not that I ever was, but it felt like it.

Lightbringer do you deliver?

Only if I could bring the pots’n’pans and have someone there wash ’em.

Like… with just a knife and fork?

“Snacks” are becoming whole meals at this point, ’cause yesterday was just pancakes (felt like I was at Prince’s house again) until my lo mein late late in the day.

Today was just some fried eggs on bread (yawn…), ’til I needed to kill off one/more of the last frozen chicken breast, some on-the-vine tomatoes that are probably at-peak and will start going soft Real Soon Now, and same with a green pepper.

Oh, well, 2 out of 3 sounds good.

Thawed and brined (hot and very salty water) the chicken for an hour or so, thawed one of the hero-rolls that was also in the freezer (sick and tired of tossing out bread that goes stale/moldy unless I inhale it within a coupla days), and figured that while I’m in the mood for chicken salad, I’ll try it sliced instead.

So after it thawed, I sliced it thin, fried it in plain oil, then had a really good half-hero with just the chicken, mayo, and sliced tomato. Saved myself a lot of work mooshing the chicken into salad form.

Probably have the other half-roll and 2nd half of the chicken with another tomato tomorrow.

Damn, it was good. And simple. Just the combo I like.

PayDay again.

and, on Amazon, $17 for 24.

Made “french-bread pizza” today. Half a hero-roll, no more ham or anything, so hey, I got some Rinaldi or whatever, some mozz, and a oven, so I got busy. Little too much mozz, so it started hanging over the edges and didn’t brown in place yet, but still pretty good.

Should get some more rolls, as it was pretty good and I still got leftover sauce before it gets a-moulderin’.

lahmacun

( frozen box from supermarket, plus salad mix , ayvar, tsaziki )

oh no….
Candy Corn got hacked.

Scoop-shaped tortilla chips with guacamole, spicy hot chile sauce, and beans—wash it all down with a bottle of Sol. A favorite snack.

I used to buy the 1 LB bags of XXXXtra Hot Cheetos from Sam’s Club, but for some reason they stopped selling those, so now I snack on regular lime cheetos.

On the bright side, I’m not in as much pain anymore during certain times of the day.

Yeah, my daughter calls that “volcano butt”.

Made blueberry pancakes. Really good, all things considered.

I requested North Carolina blueberries but they sent me Michigan blueberries. People say I’m crazy but I can taste the difference.
