hey there, I have not. I actually kind of forgotten about it because I've been enjoying the light so much anyway. I need to try this tonight, I have this one and the SFT40 FT03 side by side next to my exterior door of the house. They've been getting a lot of use lately, they're both great.
If anything I'll swap the XHP 50 smooth reflector for this SFN55.2, because the tint shift on the XHP 50 version is really bad so that would probably be better with the OP reflector anyway. Thanks for reminding me, I feel like it would greatly help to throw to have the SMO in this sfn55.2 , Right now it throws out of sheer power but there's no defined hotspot
I’m sorry for the beggining text - it should be SFN55.2, not SFT55.2 :person_facepalming: My mistake, but I hope those beamshots will be helpful for you all!
Mine came in! Unfortunately just after Thanksgiving long weekend and it came in black when I had ordered a blue one. Hopefully Neal can fix despite it being sold out.
This is only my second light after a gen1 FW3A so I have nothing to compare it to. First impression is that it’s much smaller than what I was expecting (seeing it in person is very different than just reading reviews I guess). I also wasn’t expecting it but you can see the yellow led die in the centre of the hotspot when shining it on a white wall. Ramping up to the appropriate brightness makes it go away. I’m powering it with an 18650, solid contact but the springs aren’t fully compressed so I can feel a slight rattle and sometimes you can feel the vibration of the springs (boing!).
Got mine today, really happy with it overall. It is a relatively speaking a very large single cell light. Throw was a what I thought given the area of the LED. I lit up an area down a residential neighbor street about 200 meters to the end of the street. House at the end was well lit with enough spill to light up the yards along the way. It really is the brightest single LED I’ve ever played with. It warmed up within 20 seconds to the feel the heat begin to bleed out. Thermal protection was kicking in after about 30 seconds. Got warm to very warm after a few minutes, I had keep double tapping turbo. Just above the switch stayed much cooler. Running mine on a 26800 battery with it’s lowest mode so lower the 9 individual LEDs can be seen.
