I have aluminum gt fc40 3000k and a Stainless Steel xhp70 4000k. and i love them both equally.
There was a post on reddit to the effect that acebeam were working on a smaller form factor of the E70
I am not an expert by any stretch but if it is a single cell light the answer is yes. If it were a 2 series cell light it would be a buck driver. Anyone please correct me if I am wrong.
Yes, XHP70.2 can be wired in 6v or 12v configuration. GT-FC40 is always 12v. If it’s a single cell, it has a boost driver.
Two series cells for XHP70.2 could be buck, linear or even direct drive if wired in 6v. Most XHP70.2 lights I’ve seen are set up for 6v operation.

My opinion on this light has not changed. Probably best design I have seen. The light is pure flood with no hot spot. You either love it or hate it. I would have liked a bit more hot spot but that’s just me.
It looks different but the design doesn’t look good w.r.t. the housing. Surely all those holes will fill up with dirt. Not sure how others use their lamps but mine are not kept in a dustless IC manufacturing facility. They get actual use in and around the house, on bike trips, etc., and any holes and edges will get filled/get a layer caked on the side, over time.
Is that right? I just read in another thread that you have/had over 100 Astrolux lights (I think it was you). And I imagine you have many other lights too. So saying this is probably the coolest looking light you have is pretty freakin high praise. Makes me think I really need this light in really any of the exotic metals. It’s a little on the larger side from the looks of it, and the UI is so-so, but damn is it a pretty light. I have been resisting this but Acebeam has gradually turned me into big fan and the looks of this light is a prime example of why, on top of always insisting on efficiency too. They even stepped up on this one and added a High-CRI option. That’s the one I want I’d want and it’s out of stock so thats probably for the best, but still, I am getting to a point where this is almost a must-have. I think I heard they are coming out with an 18650 version. Don’t prefer that battery, but may welcome the smaller size. What are your thoughts on it after owning it for 6 months?

I was reading from the beginning when I asked my question, but I see you literally just a few minutes ago answered it. Just one of those things I guess. 
This light really shows they are thinking out of the box. This is commendable.
That’s great to hear. I’ve heard others say that because if the dual tube design, it doesn’t ever really feel hot. For a hot rod, that’s a pretty nice unexpected feature. Ultimately I prefer 21700 so I may just pull the trigger on this if it becomes a si le again.

I think it gets hot fairly quickly on turbo, so I mostly use high.
It does not get that hot on high.
It's still my brightest flashlight on high, but it's also my only XHP70 flashlight and my largest flashlights are powered by 1x18650 or 1x21700.
Got my E70 mini in Titanium.
My impressions:
- Beautiful light.
- Lovely 519a 5000K tint and beam pattern.
- Feels great in the hand in bead-blasted titanium. Very grippy.
- Superb clip. It’s fairly long, grips securely, has just enough tension. Plenty of room to fit over even thick belts. It’s clear Acebeam spent some time designing a really good clip.
- Extremely comfortable for belt or edge of sweat-pants carry due to the excellent clip.
Downsides:
- A bit too long and heavy for pocket EDC for me. This is a lot closer to a Convoy S2+ in size than a DQG Tiny. I’d have preferred if the entire light were shrunk down a bit more.
- Beam pattern is very floody.
- As mentioned in the previous review, turbo and high might have timed stepdowns.
- The head gets hot, but that’s to be expected for a small tube light in Titanium.
Modding potential:
- The bezel was not threadlocked onto the head. However, the titanium on titanium threads at the bezel were gritty and it was difficult to get it unscrewed. Fortunately, once the bezel was removed it was a simple matter to remove the glass lens, o-ring and Carclo 10507 optic.
- I prefer dedomed 5000K 519a for better throw, lower DUV, and warmer tint. Dedoming the E70 mini was easy. I just poked the narrow tip nozzle of my heat gun directly over an LED from a couple mm away to heat it up. Then I removed the heat gun and pushed the dome off using a flat toothpick that I had modified with a flat end and a notch. Repeat for the other 2 leds. No need to even remove the board from the light. Apart from the initial difficulty in removing the bezel this was the easiest dedome ever.
I don’t know why, but people that use the 297 nm lamp report that their nails become stronger and thicker just after one week. Also their bones and teeth and hair. even though their vitamin d3 level is normal. Also some report that their age spots diminish gradually. I think that the reason is that the immune system becomes stronger than normal.
