What knife did you get today?

Nice, i’m on the fence for the 4  And for the Junglas, what didn’t you like? :open_mouth:

Nothing I didn’t like, it’s just that Skrama is a much better tool for my needs. It can easy be used as a knife (balance wise) and as a chopoer and it’s ground thin so it cuts like a scalpel. And Varusteleka has great warranty.

ESEE 4 and rest of the classic line are too thick for my taste, knife is a cutting tool and they suck at it. Newer models are interesting, AGK looks like a great hunting knife and few others look intwresting.

congrats, hope you enjoy it

iirc, two pin scales are synthetic… as in the middle: (left is bone, right is stag)

.

Thanks
I thought it was the sawcut delrin , its got the sawcut remnants of the bone in your pic.
I’ve just started picking up the barlow pattern . It’s been around since 1667 .

Man, what a let-down.
I was on the White Mountain Knives website, checking out their latest sale. I’d seen that in addition to the discounts previously made, on some knives you could get an additional 20% off with “SALE20.” So I’d added a knife into my cart, applied the coupon (which worked), kept browsing… changed my mind, removed the knife, added a different one… and then, the coupon failed to work. I’m like, OK—I went back to the previous knife. But the coupon was totally non-functional. Essentially it was revoked from the site while I was browsing. Disgusted, I closed my session and that’s that—not getting anything. Unreal. :rage:

Well….that just sucks!!!

It sure does!

Maybe it was karma telling me “hey, you don’t need another knife.” And yeah, I really don’t. But I’ve been very good about not going nuts with knives. I’ve got about 10 altogether, with only 3 in the solid middle tier. There are so many decent ones in the sub $50 range you can get these days. So many interesting designs & variations. I’d had my heart set on a particular slip joint Civivi…

Anyway, prices are going up and there’s no telling when it’ll plateau. I thought it might be a good time to hit a sale now rather than later.

I don’t really need another either but … this is what came today . Except the Bear and Son on the bottom . I bought it at Tractor Supply . :person_facepalming:

Nice haul!

Well, in my disgust with White Mountain Knives, I decided to cruise Blade Forums just to see what’s brewing. Actually found something I liked, for a very good price. The TwoSun TS123. A little more than half off the AliExpress price, very gently used. Earlier release with groove in the blade for easy grip. It’s a slip joint with copper inlay. M390 steel blade. A real beauty.

I slightly modded my TS123:

The TS123 is a nice looking knife.

ummm… you guys are costing me money: (thanks… lol)

Benchmade mini Bugout:

Nicely done! Looks good this way too, although part of what drew me to it was the swept up tip… somewhat reminiscent of the far more expensive Spyderco Hundred Pacer

I ran into this same problem a few months ago. I emailed Justin about it when it happened. Unlike the regular standing discount codes, this one only applied to certain knives. For reasons that are apparently still not understood, this code just wasn’t working for some people. So he had me place the order normally and just refunded me the difference.

WMK is my favorite place to shop and they’re one of the best. If you ever run into an issue over there, use the contact link. Justin tends to get back quickly and is always glad to help. He has also been very helpful when it comes to special editions and getting things into stock.

^ Thanks for the tip on White Mountain Knives. Sounds like Justin is a bang-up guy. I’ll be sure to keep him in mind next time.

I got the Two Sun TS123 knife. Some would snub it for not having a locking blade, but wow… is this thing really tough. It will not deploy unintentionally. There’s two firm detents — one half way out and then one fully extended. And once deployed it’s so firmly in place. In fact, if you’re exercising some due force, you’ll be putting your thumb on the spine. And that where the spring loaded lock bar is. That blade isn’t slipping. Not in the least. Workmanship is solid. Exudes quality. Feels great in the hand. So happy I took a chance on this. Sure, it’s not a fidgety knife for flipping out and flipping in… but not every knife is meant for that.

This is a gorgeous piece. For $50 shipped, I think I got one heck of a deal!

I’ve been looking at Two Sun lately. They have some good looking patterns. I just got this pretty little Case Teardrop , Redbone with PVD coated blade. This is the first knife I have seen with this coating . It gives the stainless a look of a old carbon blade patina.

20CV blade. Good blade for custom scales. I’ll use bulnesia sarmientoi for the scales. edit: Nice edc option and companion for S35VN blade. I finally have knives in 2 of the steels I’ve really wanted but couldn’t justify.

Two Sun has a very good reputation. Got started before WE, Civivi, Kizer, Artisan Cutlery, etc. Their quality has evolved nicely. This is my 2nd one from this brand. Nice retro looking Case knife. :+1:

Going to try and learn some wood carving.

Pinewood Forge 2” Harley Refsal. Can’t believe how razor sharp this is.

Good luck ! Hope you have some fun with it
