Factory edge cut rope 100 times for a 100 FAIL
Guided edge ( 22deg ) did a 300 Fail .
TunaFire …………. ? Wow
Not familiar with this test. Is this good or poor performance?
They need to make a flashlight!
We need a flashlight with TunaFire written on the side!!! 
Perhaps a collaborative effort with Uranusfire would be more marketable. A TunaAnusFire flashlight will sell in the millions. Especially if it came with its own BRC18650 350 mAh cell that claimed 6000 mAh. Throw the cheap rope cutter into the package and no one could resist!

Slice rope . then slice printer paper …
As long as the knife slices paper , I slice rope .
This is essentially a edge retention test …
Poor performance in my book is 100 slices or less ( the less = the worse )
Average is around 150 - 200 slices …
A lot of you Vintage knives ( Remington / Camillus ) range around the 100 to 150 slice area .
CrMov can be from 50 to 250 …
AUS8 - 100 to 200+
420SS 100 to 150
440ss 100 to 150
Say you have 440c that fails at 50 , that’s bad 440 .
D2 , decent D2 , should be 400+ slices …
Obviously a lot of variables involved , like some ones skill at making a decent edge .
But if you have the skill to develop an edge that say does consistently 450 with one knife
And thet edge on another knife does 450
And on another knife does 450
Then when a knife does 50 or 100 , is it you or the knife ?
And when you retest / re sharpen and get the same result …
So when a D2 knife consistently underperforms , one can make a rather safe assumption that it’s the knife , not a rubbish re sharpening job .
Also the original factory grind can affect performance as well .
And without something like a wet stone grinder , it can be hard to detect a FUBAR factory edge .
Most knives I have tested , have had FUBAR factory edges … A few knives ( small percentage ) have had decent factory edge performance .

I like the way you tried to standardize a practical method for comparing blade cutting performance.
It looks like the TwoSun TS16 D2 is the king of the hill after grounding/re-profiling the blade. Do you have a favorite?
The rope and cutting board are reasonably standardized …
Edges : So many variable .
Factory grinds = The wet stone grinder grinds straight ( nature of the beast ) , and shows up bad factory grinds .
The guided knife sharpener essentially follows the factory grind .
So some times using the guided knife sharpener can lower results …
And the wet stone grinder can dramatically increase performance because it puts down a fresh straight even grind .

The Columbia SA39 , these did a 500 slice pass , I stopped at 500 cos my hand began to ache … I own 4 Columbia SA39 knives + They were $25 oz bananas shipped to my door = Insane value …
I also have a Columbia SA40 , and it is also 500+ slices …
Ganzo FH51 D2 – Factory 150 / Guided 450 —- 450 slices on a re sharpened edge from the guided knife sharpener … ( I like that )
QSP Parrot D2 – factory 250 / guided 450 —— I really like the Parrot D2 … If I had to recommend a knife … My sample was not perfect , but for the price and a little tweaking —- It’s about as good as it gets .

Out of curiosity, if you have the time, would you mind letting me know why you’d recommend the Parrot as a bushcraft folder? I’m in the market for a sturdy folder but wondering about scandi grinds, possibility (rare) of batoning with it—basic firewood prep stuff I’m interested in, really.

A) I would never Baton a Folder
B) The parrot cos it’s light , Decent D2 with decent edge holding and a decent price .
C) A really good size ( pocket knife )
D) Strikes the ferro rod real nice
E) Out of many knives , the Parrot is one I would take out with me . ( Bush )
Batoning - Fixed blade full tang … Better still an axe .
Out of the ( how many ? ) knives I own , the Parrot is at the top of the list for knives I would slip in my pocket to go bush . ( But that’s me )
For a do all knife , it has to be a fixed sheath knife .
