What knife did you get today?

The TS123 is a nice looking knife.

ummm… you guys are costing me money: (thanks… lol)

Benchmade mini Bugout:

.

Nicely done! Looks good this way too, although part of what drew me to it was the swept up tip… somewhat reminiscent of the far more expensive Spyderco Hundred Pacer

I ran into this same problem a few months ago. I emailed Justin about it when it happened. Unlike the regular standing discount codes, this one only applied to certain knives. For reasons that are apparently still not understood, this code just wasn’t working for some people. So he had me place the order normally and just refunded me the difference.

WMK is my favorite place to shop and they’re one of the best. If you ever run into an issue over there, use the contact link. Justin tends to get back quickly and is always glad to help. He has also been very helpful when it comes to special editions and getting things into stock.

^ Thanks for the tip on White Mountain Knives. Sounds like Justin is a bang-up guy. I’ll be sure to keep him in mind next time.

I got the Two Sun TS123 knife. Some would snub it for not having a locking blade, but wow… is this thing really tough. It will not deploy unintentionally. There’s two firm detents — one half way out and then one fully extended. And once deployed it’s so firmly in place. In fact, if you’re exercising some due force, you’ll be putting your thumb on the spine. And that where the spring loaded lock bar is. That blade isn’t slipping. Not in the least. Workmanship is solid. Exudes quality. Feels great in the hand. So happy I took a chance on this. Sure, it’s not a fidgety knife for flipping out and flipping in… but not every knife is meant for that.

This is a gorgeous piece. For $50 shipped, I think I got one heck of a deal!

I’ve been looking at Two Sun lately. They have some good looking patterns. I just got this pretty little Case Teardrop , Redbone with PVD coated blade. This is the first knife I have seen with this coating . It gives the stainless a look of a old carbon blade patina.

20CV blade. Good blade for custom scales. I’ll use bulnesia sarmientoi for the scales. edit: Nice edc option and companion for S35VN blade. I finally have knives in 2 of the steels I’ve really wanted but couldn’t justify.

Two Sun has a very good reputation. Got started before WE, Civivi, Kizer, Artisan Cutlery, etc. Their quality has evolved nicely. This is my 2nd one from this brand. Nice retro looking Case knife. :+1:

Going to try and learn some wood carving.

Pinewood Forge 2” Harley Refsal. Can’t believe how razor sharp this is.

Good luck ! Hope you have some fun with it

Thanks, will try not to cut my fingers :confounded:

This came today . Vintage Schrade 80T . Rescaled by Jeff from AAPK . Second Life Knives . Smooth Autumn Gold Bone .

He also coined the liners. He does really ice work .

Nice looking knife!

I have a Kershaw Link, but with a 420HC blade and an aluminum handle that doesn't look nearly as cool.

You are welcome regarding White Mountain Knives.

I’ve had a handful of TwoSun knives in recent years. Overall quality seems decent. Their steel stamps check out. They have a lot of models and offer an interesting variety of designs with good steel choices. They were my introduction to a few designers including Night Morning, Wong, and Jelly Jerry.

My main complaint is that most of their models run thicker blade stock than I want for an EDC folder.

I have passed up a lot of knives on Aliexpress for that same reason. I like a thick, heavy blade in my large outdoor knives, but not my pocket knives.

Benchmade Mini Griptilian Sheepfoot model 555 w 154CM steel and Hollow Grind… its a classic!

I remember carrying a very similar knife with me in elementary school. One of the blades was really tough to open. Cut myself a few times because of that. Seems odd now that kids used to carry knifes in school.

That model 555 looks comfortable. :+1:

thanks for commenting
yes, the hole makes it really easy to open, and the blade is a Joy to use.

The grip shape is nice and hand filling… I went over the grips with 600 grit emery paper, followed by a Sunshine polishing cloth, just to soften the bite of the knurling…

This one is a gift for my son, for use as a camping knife.

thanks for taking the time to share photos… thats a beautiful knife

here are a few more fancy handles… they are GEC Barlows…
.

Those GEC’s look really nice ! I’ve just bought my first GEC , a Barlow at that ! Hoping it arrives sometime this upcoming week .
