Made “french-bread pizza” today. Half a hero-roll, no more ham or anything, so hey, I got some Rinaldi or whatever, some mozz, and a oven, so I got busy. Little too much mozz, so it started hanging over the edges and didn’t brown in place yet, but still pretty good.
Should get some more rolls, as it was pretty good and I still got leftover sauce before it gets a-moulderin’.
I used to buy the 1 LB bags of XXXXtra Hot Cheetos from Sam’s Club, but for some reason they stopped selling those, so now I snack on regular lime cheetos.
On the bright side, I’m not in as much pain anymore during certain times of the day.
Sick and tired of ground beef turning gray-brown even in the freezer, so went’n’got some fresh.
Martin potato-rolls, coupla slices murrrrcan cheese, salt’n’pepper, raw onion (did the soak-in-water thing), katchup, and used my burger press to shape ’em perfectly.
Fresh ground is the way to go. We only get butcher shop ground beef. Cheese burger with fried onion . Sometimes do the sloppy burger thing with lettuce, tomato, onion, salt, pepper, ketchup, mayo. Once in a while will do the raw onion and ketchup only thing.
i haven’t used mayo in years, but you made it sound so good that i had to get a jar and crack it open to add some flavor to fish tacos i made with pan grilled trout.
Later at Aldis i saw a special on 1 lb bag of brussel sprouts, so i got those to go with a ground beef hot chipotle burrito for supper. Nuked a few for 2 minutes to soften and pre-cook the centers, then sliced in half and pan grilled them to put on a good char. Next time i’ll char some onion and garlic with them—it will be kickin’
Never was a fan of brussels sprouts, but halving them and then frying with loads of garlic… yum!
I glop on the mayo when having a samwich. Cranky guy at a Karl Elmer’s would get nasty when I’d ask for “extra extra extra extra mayo”, because he’d like dip the knife in the jar and use that little coating on the entire samwich. Uhhh, yeah, spare it, eh?
Once he asked me if I just wanted the jar, and I acted as if I was taking him seriously, like, “Really?? Yeah, sure, great!!”, which didn’t go over too well. He’d always find some reason to duck in back when I’d be next, to let someone else take my order. And they did it right.
Ironically, I got a coupla slices of ham left, that I was gonna have with mustard as a change of pace.
Snack yesterday was a bag of Texas Toast croutons, garlic’n’butter. I could eat those like potato-chips…
