Its not a coal-lift, it transports shale for making bricks. It’s an amazing system, powered only by the gravity of of the descending buckets, no electricity or fuel burned to make it work, just the weight of the descending buckets lifting the empty buckets back up.
It was due to stop working and be dismantled in 2018, but was granted until 2036 without a single objection.
