Die sizes of some dome-less leds

Getian GT-FC40__19.1 mm2
Cree XP-L Hi _3.72 mm2
OSRAM KW CSLNM1-TG_0.94 mm2
CREE XHP35 Hi__5.52 mm2
OSRAM KW CSLPM1-TG_1.83 mm2
Luminus SFT40__3.90 mm2
Luminus SFT70__6.34 mm2
Yinding 5050 30W_2.06 mm2

Die sizes were estimated from a printout from this picture so likely not perfectly accurate.

You were able to get your hands on a SFT70? I hope the test is coming soon.

Yes, Simon had listed a few but they are marked sold out now. I hope to test it the coming week, and I hope to test the round Yinding led too.

With pen, picture-print and ruler I tried to figure the actual die sizes of the different dies. Not scientifically precise but good enough for getting the picture. Results added to the OP.

Nice, I hope the SFT70 turns out well. It seems it will match the intensity of the SFT40 since the die area is about 50% larger and the lumen output will also be about 50% higher. I hope it survives 20A

The FC 40 is really big :open_mouth:

No B35A ?

I measured 3.1~3.15mm
The datasheet says 3.12mm

Thanks, no I have no B35A.

I just wanted to post the picture actually, but Hoop convinced me to add the names and die sizes.

The Yingding looks interesting

Great comparison!

Are there some further info on the Yinding round emitter LED?
It seems interesting for a C8 thrower mod.

It’s interesting that you measured OSRAM KW CSLNM1-TG to be 11% and KW CSLPM1-TG 8% smaller than the datasheet says.
OTOH your CREE measurements are quite consistent with what others measured before.

Very cool, I found the emitter on Taobao. It seems to be designed for projectors. This might induce me to do my first mod with a 8A driver. The beam should be very beautiful - it might even look good in a zoomie.

There is some additional information on the Taobao page. Apparently it is 5900-6300K. There is also one with a glass lens at 5000k.

I contacted the seller on Taobao and they said that the Yinding does 1800 lumens at 8A. If so, the intensity should be very close to an Osram W2. I’m eagerly waiting for the Djozz test and hope the Vf is low.

Things went wrong in the household, that consumed my free time this week. I hope doing the test soon.

No worries, I can wait  take care

You’re doing this for free for the community. Please take your time and don’t worry (:

My yinding emitters are hung up in shipping :frowning: I’m dying to test them out! Looks like you might beat me to it.

I also was indecisive too long on the SFT70 and missed the boat. My thought was that the emitter plus a suitable driver was going to cost about the same as a 90.2 and FET driver. The 90.2 can be had in 5700K as well.

I’ll be refreshing this page for the next few days

Anxiously awaiting your impressions of the YD5050. TomE’s and my package is held up at port somewhere since 10-29

I built one C8+ with these YinDings. I haven’t really tinkered with it yet for optimal centering and focus, but at least I can confirm it can take 8A and produced light leans heavily towards greener side of BBL. Even without perfect focus, the hotspot seems similar with Culpm1 or whatever catchy name it has.

There seems to be another variation of this emitter from YD. It has a clear flat encapsulation that looks like the glass Osrams.

Yep, the 5000k version has a glass lens
