[POLL] Do You Use A Cell Phone Case?

I don’t.
Also I don’t put TV remote in a plastic bag and couch under plastic foil.

I don’t, but the glass is broken  , somebody else broke it, I never dropped it myself.

I do. It goes too many places and needs a least a modest amount of protection.

I use an Otterbox and Glass screen protector — I try to get as many years out of my phone as possible

I drop my phone several times a week. Usually near the charger, so the average height is low but nevertheless YES.

I buy cheap phones and dont use a screen protector. I have a basic half shell case and belt holster but the belt clips always break off so I designed and print my own as needed.

Ottercase Defender. My Galaxy S7 is almost 5 year old and looks brand new even if I work in a shop.

Otterbox. No screen protector as the newer glasses used arr vastly improved over earler generations. The Galaxy S9+ screen is still fine. It is almost always in my pocket or hand. I use many different apps, calculatores, camera, etc all the time. It is a tool more than a phone.

Absolutely. I’m pretty careful but still manage at least a few fumble drops a year.

Had a bad bike crash this spring; broken clavicle, 6 ribs, pneumothorax, concussion, multiple lacerations and contusions, and spent 4 days in the hospital. It was pretty bad. That’s especially fun during COVID.

Phone was in one of those elastic side pockets of my pack. It got jettisoned at maybe 25-30mph (going down hill, explosive flat) from ~4 feet up onto concrete. It worked when I got it back but the screen looked badly cracked with some deep gouges. Turned out to be the screensaver completely. Case had numerous cracks. Inside, phone was fine. Frankly I was amazed it worked, let alone appear untouched.
No one, ever, plans to have an accident like that. Stuff happens.

Yes, and the thicker and rubbery-er, the better!

I’m still using the Pixel 3A and haven’t had a single issue. I’ve always used a case. It just feels better with one on, more secure in my hand.

Anyone ever use "Zizo" cases? Their design are quite unique and their cases are really tough. This is the one I use. One time riding the scooter, it flew right off and slid on the road for a good 20' or so! iPhone was all okay. I think it landed and hit the pavement the right way.

Bolt Series

I have a tempered glass screen protector and a cell phone case.

My cell phone is in excellent shape because of these inexpensive measures.

I was using a [ZIZO Static Series Built in Kickstand iPhone 7 iPhone 6s Case Red ] + tempered glass screen when I had my bike crash (post 10)
Good case. Don’t find any personal use for the kickstand.

Okay I get it, you must be a txt ER.

No case needed on my last 4 Kyocera phones. Starting in 2014. They all had a sapphire screen which is pretty much scratch-proof. They have all been waterproof. The current one is rated at 1.5 meters dropping onto concrete. 2 meters under water for 30 minutes. The last 2 you can control the camera and video while under water. The current one is only available on Verizon.

The Static was kinda too smooth for me but that’s a good one too. That’s my pet peeve about this case. The kickstand rod is metal so no problem but the plastic latches the rod sits in at each end are too small and break all the time. :person_facepalming:

Very thin, clear rubbery type over here.

And my cell phone case, too.

I think this is a classic “Easy but not easy.” On one hand it’s nice to be holding a phone without a case. It’s the way the design studio meant it to be. You’re reminded of the tech and design every time one goes to use it. But on the other hand if I drop it, the glass most likely will crack. :money_mouth_face: Plus most phones feel slippery.

Over here in Singapore, new phones usually come with fancy phone cases. Mine is a two-year-old Huawei Mate 20 Pro, which came with a “leather” folder case.

Giving a free case is a good selling point.
