I just finished rewatching Band of Brothers on DVD, 2 episodes every few days.

Eschew obfuscation.

Saturday Night Live did a pretty funny parody of Squid Game.

Warning: There are major spoilers, so if you plan to watch Squid Game, maybe skip this video until after you watch Season 1.

I saw Fury vs. Wilder III from October 9th, 2021.

It is an excellent heavy weight boxing match.

Check it out if you like boxing.

What style boxers are they? Sluggers or boxers. I prefer boxers.

Sorry, but I don't know if they're sluggers or boxers.

Maybe someone else can chime in.

Oh we are getting weird now... Squid Games...
I just finished it this past weekend. What a weird, *_weird_* show. The Koreans have an interesting "Manga-like" aesthetic. Pretty horrific combining the innocence of child games with adult mortality. Despite some of the strange dialog, which I imagine is something to do with how language is translated, there are some very interesting characters. Overall, I didn't like it. It's really too violent for the sake of sheer cruelty. An echo of how some people view others who are in desperate debt? (I didn't really give anything away--this is revealed very early on, and exposed in the trailer).

Thanks -- I'd not seen this SNL episode yet. This is really hilarious!

Rewatching Jericho. It’s a shame they only made two seasons.

Big Little Lies (HBO Max)

I never intended to watch this… but my girlfriend insisted I’d appreciate it. The scenario is an enclave of mostly white privilege wealthy families living in Monterey Bay California, many of them with large or palatial sized oceanside homes. Focus is mainly on the women & kids. Drama & gossip abound. The headliners are Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, and Laura Dern. I wasn’t feeling like I was going to like this from just episode 1, despite the good acting. But I held my prejudices aside and kept watching.

INTENSE.

Things develop fairly quickly. Very complicated, because of the flash-forwards. You’re telegraphed a foreboding of something potentially criminal happening later. And then you learn… It wasn’t what I expected.

There’s just 2 seasons. But, given the story, it kind of makes sense. The intensity would leave me drained at the end of an episode, so I didn’t binge watch until the last 3—because of the escalation.

The acting is terrific. The writing feels so amazingly real-life. This series got a number of awards and I can see why.

I recently got the 20th Anniversary Smallville Blu-ray set. That’s 10 seasons of ~22 episodes at ~50 minutes per episode. 40 bluray disks! Big Smile

I’m going to be watching for a while…

Anyone here seen “Warehouse 13”? It’s a 5 season sci-fi like mystery show, focused on what I’m guessing is like that warehouse of classified artifacts shown at the end of the first Indiana Jones movie.
“After saving the life of the President, two Secret Service agents find themselves abruptly transferred to Warehouse 13 – a massive, top-secret storage facility.” It ran from 2009 to 2014. Described as “part The X-Files, part Raiders of the Lost Ark and part Moonlighting.” Davie

I just started it… and it’s OK. Acting is a bit weak.

I bought a few seasons on dvd but never got to watch ‘em. Facepalm

Heard it was really good, saw parts of one ep in passing at a friend’s house, and it intrigued me.

(Best Buy, Target, etc., would often have blowouts on various serieses, like 17-20bux per. Used to love Sunday flyers…)

There are some intriguing qualities to the show. I like the premise of exploring all of those mysterious classified artifacts hidden away from the public… Also, the “anchor” guy in it, the “keeper of the warehouse” is actor Saul Rubinek, who is a character actor that has appeared on numerous shows, often as a quirky, mysterious, or devious character. He was in a Star Trek TNG episode, The Most Toys. He’s OK… not what I’d call in top form, perhaps the director not eliciting his best. Overall, it just feels a little “meh,” kind of like the TV series “SLIDERS” (something I enjoyed a bit when it aired back in the 90’s), which hasn’t aged very well. Given how it was discontinued 6 years ago, no hurry to get through it. Will dabble with a few more episodes to see if it gets better. Watching on IMDB. It’s high def.

Watching The Lost Symbol … I’m about 4-5 episodes in a think. I like it so far. I’d say it’s done almost as good as some of the later movies (not as good as the DaVanci Code) however that may just be because after the first “new” movie/show like this, another one isn’t as exciting…IMO.

I don’t know how I didn’t know about this series. I just happened upon it because I decided to check Eddie Izzards site to see if he had any new Standup out, (he did not) and this showed up.

I saw South Park: Post COVID and South Park: Post COVID: The Return of COVID.

It's like watching a two hour movie.

It is reasonably entertaining, and fairly funny, but it does drag in some parts.

The ending is strong, which is nice.

I recommend watching It (2017) and It Chapter Two (2019) before watching these South Park specials.

Warning: The South Park specials have scores of f-bombs.

If you like South Park comedy, check it out.

Srpski film 2010
Story of loving father, who can sacrifice a lot to save his family. Nice, warm movie for a family weekend.

Very very good film! Reading the backstory, putting it in context, it’s a masterpiece. Direct and brutal.

Vukmir Vukmir stole every scene he was in!

I’ve been watching Hawkeye on Disney+ and Expanse season 6 on Amazon. Both are quite good.

Next up will be The Witcher season 2.
