Today I received in the mail the Convoy M26C with the GT-FC40 Emitter. Very pleased with this light overall. My excuse for buying it was I had a 26650 not being used.
I also received a cool little knife. OTF double-action keychain size. Awesome deal for 13 USD.
I must admit that I have a mini-workbench in our sleeping room, with a big vice, a small drill-press, a small type band saw and a disc sander. But my girlfriend nowadays works from home most of the days so the equipment is stowed away and the workbench is her office now
(she brings in more money than me so that is fair enough )
But on the scarce days that I’m alone at home I can use it all and the whole house is my workshop
First impression: nice but it performs under specs, and they missed some opportunities.
On the best 14500 out there, Vapcell H10, I only get 120lumen/67kcd. On the golden Vapcell only 100 lumen. Maybe a tail spring bypass could boost it a bit but I doubt that even de specs can be met with that. The current on the H10 is only 800mA, sounds like going 14500 causes a voltage-struggle getting the laser going, seems that Lumintop did not make a boost-driver for this one.
The beam is pretty nice, no rings or anything. The tint is typical LEP: 7600K, 63CRI, duv +0.013. Nothing wrong with that for a thrower.
Disappointing to me, the projection lens is only 13.5mm diameter while easily a 16mm lens would have fit. This would have produced 40% more kcd.
The ring is blue GITD stuff.
The phosfor looks like many other LEP’s, it is the back-illuminated type.
The size is a bit larger than a Convoy T2, but it still feels compact to me.
But what I like best about the Ant Man is the design, it is the best looking flashlight that I have ever owned, reminds me of the old Foursevens Quark AA, but nicer!
I got my Ant Man also, Neal included an H10 in the light although I don’t remember ordering it with one. Just opened the box a few minutes ago and the H10 is charging but I can tell you I hate the clip already. Looks to be the same one on the FWAA. I just don’t care for two way clips, simple clip like the Tool or a deep carry clip would have been better imo.
Just got this bad boy in Nichia 219c today (hoping to get an sw45k in it). Absolutely loving it, the fit, finish. The emitter is honestly not bad, I had an Astrolux S41 in 219c 4000K as one of my first enthusiast lights and I loved it. The rotary is a lot of fun to play with - definitely going to spend some time in my EDC.
Got a new light in the mail today. On The Road M4 Mini. So far I like it. I’d prefer a USB-C port in the threads instead of under a flap, but that’s my only gripe with it. I got the SST-20 high CRI version.
It’s the A6 BLF SE/S1 driver, the 7/4 modes one. It needs to go inside the C8 it’s lying on because the original 7135x8 died on me. I know: super-easy little job for many here but it’s going to be the first repair I’ll do on a light myself so wish me luck…….
In the mail today, I got a new LP Gear stylus for my turntable, and the NlightD T90 I ordered last month on Black Friday.
Despite the LED being slightly out of focus on the T90, I do like the light for the price I paid. I definitely wouldn’t pay full retail for it though. Around $80 USD shipped with battery is a much more sane price for this light.
