Dedicated Pioneman Deals (Updated Jan 9th): Pioneman P80 Group Buy

I have a Pioneman light but they do indeed use Convoy drivers. The comparative advantage of Pioneman appears to be their machining. I really like the body of my 21700 tube light with a XHP 70.2.

It's the same question I ask myself, they wrote right? Or they were wrong and wanted to write SFN55, if they really made a flashlight with the SFH55 led then I will buy it now!

Same, SFN55 I do not need because I have light coming with that emitter. I just can’t see them selling this for $90 with the SFH

Here is the Taobao listing which tends to have the most info:

https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z0d.6639537.1997196601.3.227774848lKveH&id=655238573171

What is the SFH55? I couldn’t find anything on this LED. It could be typo since H and N look quite similar.

I can find things on Taobao in China but the international version has limited search functionality.

SFH 55 is a different led has dimensions 11x11 mm therefore large enough that it can emit up to over 14000 lumens if driven at 25A.

I did speak to Pioneman this morning and they were able to confirm a few things.

- One of the options is indeed an SFH55 emitter

- The driver can push it @ 25A no problem.

  • It is supposedly getting to the 14,000 lumen range.

We are living in the future people!

I will get one with SFH55 but unfortunately I cannot buy the 26980 battery directly from AliExpress because it is not offered so I will buy it from Nealsgadgets.

do you know what emitter is used in the beamshots? Looks like the 90.2?

It’s strange because the same seller told me that the SFH55 version has a brightness of 7500 lumens and a color temperature of 6000K

Dose the SFH55 have less intensity than the SBT90.2?

Yes. 1/4th the candela per lumen by rough estimation. So it would need about 20k lumens to match the 90.2 in throw

Thanks!

If the torch really does produce 14000 lumens with the SFH55, would you go for that over the SBT90.2?

Yes - less intensity. I have an SFH55 from Neal, just got it yesterday. Planning on swapping it in to a WT90 in place of the SBT90.2. Check out Dave's thread here: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/67698. He's got the chart of various in the OP, my post here: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/67698/49

We don't think the chart is accurate in all respects, but a lot of it seems to be.

The issue with the K80 SFH55 is if it truly can pull the amps, it should be over 30 and that's not great on any single cell. That's why the bigger WT90 triple 21700's is right now about as good as it gets. Was thinking of a GT90 too, 8 18650's should do ok also.

Interesting if the WT90 with one SFH55 would do as good as the triple SBT90.2 HL HK90. Or put three in a HK90 and get >30K lumens? Interesting...

Wow! The WT90 with SFH55 will be a complete monster!

I will probably go for the SBT90.2 in the k80 for three reasons:

1. I don’t yet have a torch with a SBT90.2 and this host looks perfect for it.
2. As you motioned, a single 26800 is not enough for the mighty SFH55.
3. I want more throw.

I’ll obviously wait for Simon to release his version.

Ordered!

I’d like to see them add throw numbers for the different emitters.

I'll ask them for the information.

Hi Tom, what do you think about the 26980 battery that Neal offers, do you think it will be enough for SFH55, they say it can continuously deliver 40A and up to 60A peak, do you think this is true and do you think it can bring the performance closer to 3x21700? Thanks.

I thought I had one, can't locate it if I do. Hard to imagine continuous 40A from one cell. I'd say let's see a test, but don't think Mooch or HKJ can test at 40A, not sure. Other issue can it drive this LED at high amps on a direct FET - is the LED's Vf low enough and the battery's resistance low enough to achieve those high amps for any length of time. That's more concerning.

I have access to 10V50A battery cyclers. If someone wants to donate a cell or two, I’ll test it.
