Need snapring pliers for removing convoy retaining rings

You can try a lens ring spanner (example ) I know my example is from US Amazon, but maybe you can find something similar in the UK

I just use a small pair of needle nose pliers like these . They work with almost all my lights.

Just use the normal pliers for snapring, use the angle grinder to make the point shallower, that’s how I’ve done mine

If you have tweezers try them. If the ring is not to tight they will work.

Tweezers don’t work, they just bend. The rings are really right.

I have snap ring pliers, but find that needle nose pliers just work better most of time.

For retaining rings where the hole isn’t big enough I just drill it bigger with a pin vise drill.

I can’t find any needle nose pliers or snap ring pliers that have a small enough tip. Don’t have an angle grinder.

Do you have a pin vise drill? You can probably buy one from Amazon for $10.

There’s actually a tool that’s better than snap ring pliers for opening these. I don’t know what it’s called though. It looks like a bar with 2 parallel arms sticking out. One of the arms can be moved back and forth along the bar. The tip of each arm has the pins in it.

That sounds interesting, anyone know what it’s called?

I use a cheap set of bead pliers from a craft store. You can sharpen the tips if need be.

I just use a pair of round nose pliers that I’ve filed the ends thinner on

Here you go.

I use a electrical staple. Ya know, used to staple house wiring. I just bend it to whatever I need and grab the staple with a pair of pliers.

Awesome thanks!

You’re over complicating it. Just cross over two small nails

That’s what I’ve always recommended over here. And CRX did.
But I stopped telling that, for apparently people want to buy specific tools for it.
I use an SS nail and an awl that rests with the handle in the palm of my hand.

I just use an old pair of cheapo tweezers. Do the tweezers get twisted out of shape? Yes. They still do the trick though.
