Well, you have to watch it right? Anything else would be illegal!
But in all seriousness, I wouldn’t expect too much. It’s written and directed by a guy with no notable movies on his record. I’ve only heard of one and that one has a 5/10 on IMDB. Maybe he’ll really give it his all and surprise us. I have to say that their race-swapping of Leon doesn’t inspire much confidence for me personally. It tells me they are more worried about being seen as progressive than making an accurate adaption of the games. Leon is a character with an established look so “best actor for the job” arguments don’t apply; a game-accurate casting call would have tried to match the original character as much as possible. Seems like Hollywood is intent on making movies about video games for people who don’t play video games. :person_facepalming:
Ready or Not.
Mrs. Jeff and I watched it last night.
What a hoot. Good acting. Silly plot - but who cares?
Get out the popcorn and sit back.
All the best,
Jeff
Excellent romantic comedy about two people who meet when one of them inadvertently gets the other fired from their job. The writing and acting stand out in this darkly-comical drama in which two people help each other overcome the past traumas and frustrations in their lives and inspire each other to reach for a better life and the happiness that has eluded them.
Watched Dune (2021) and was impressed with the visuals. Maybe the fact that it is a 2 part film, they didn’t want to spoil all the sand worm glory in this go-around. Kinda reminds me of the Krayt Dragon from Mandalorian.
I did enjoy it overall except what I thought were minor quirks (which I won’t point out without spoiling the film for others).
It was … not very good. It was extremely slow-paced, the main character was unlikeable, and there were a couple major plot holes. I was surprised. An actual bad Tom Hanks movie. I didn’t think there was such a thing.
posted my opinion before, and these
are from friends/family who saw it.
essentially, there were 5 types:
1. those who read the book(s). they are fans and might see it again.
2. teenagers who did not read the book and did not like this boooring movie.
3. children who did not understand much, but liked going to see any movie.
4. women in general did not like it. especially my two sisters and their daughters.
4. fathers who were dragged to the movie under duress. they used profanity afterwards.
When I was young I bought it on DVD to watch because gladiators. Boy was I disappointed. The way I remember it those fight scenes were some real stinkers. They had better film duels in the 1930s! :person_facepalming:
