Your coolest / best / favorite flashlight of 2021

This year, the lights I bought that I really like, are the Convoy M26C GT-FC40, Lumintop IYP365, and an Emisar D4. I love the D4, but it has XP-L HIs in it and I don’t care for the current tint situation. I’m waiting on a quad Samsung LH351D 4000K from mtnelectronics to come in the mail so I can remedy that. I think the D4 will become my new favorite light after the swap. The M26C is a well built light and the tint is very nice.

I also got a Q8 Pro because I had a matched set of 4 18650s that needed a home. It’s ridiculously bright.

It’s not over yet but at this time. Armytek Wizard C2 Pro warm. Carried every day clipped to a cargo pocket.

Sofirn IF22A … great all-around.

Honorable mention for two flashlights which as a pair meet almost all of my use cases, but I also still purchased too many other lights (about one per week financed by the money I saved with Covid preventing me from going out to Happy Hour):

1) Most Elegant: "Lumintop FWAA" (just wish it also supported NiMH AA batteries).

2) Best Value: "Sofirn IF22A" (just wish it had an Anduril-2 user interface).

Wishlist for 2022: anxiously awaiting release of Sofirn SP10Pro (AA/14500/Anduril-2).

I enjoy collecting and comparing lights, especially quality budget lights, because I can afford to purchase so many more of them.

Emisar DT8 . Has been most used .

I tought i saw an Alien.

My “2021 lights” are not from 2021
My most used lights are the:

- On The Road 311 (EDC, modified)

  • Olight Warrior Mini (EDC)

The one that surprised me the most was the Imalent MS18, which is not from 2021 as well.

2021 flashlights that I was happy to have:
Lumitop FWAA
RovyVon S3

Another thread trying to drive a wedge between children :stuck_out_tongue:

M21B GTFC40 ~3200k

Or

Manker MK37 SBT90

Best: Zebralight SC64w HI. Incredible quality, size and beam.

Favourite: Malkoff MD2/M61 with Hi/Lo. Just love this one, around the house and in the forest. Usually carry the Zebralight as back-up.

Most fun, and best EDC: Emisar D4V2 SST-20 4000K 95CRI. Can do it all. Beautiful beam and tint. Most carried.

I got into the hobby this year so my collection is small with just a D4SV2 and D4, but the D4S is significant to the D4V2 in every way from ergonomics to my use cases.

D4V2

SST-20 4000 with stock Fex +1 driver

Pocket rocket with too much spill to evenly light a path more than 20 feet in front of me. The 18350 tube is sooo cute though and it will be a great work light with its magnetic base.

D4SV2

W2 6K with 9A + CC linear driver

Even ramping, power for days of dog walking. I think I can get to medium high (5/7) before the driver switches to the CC, which means that I get an extremely bright, usable, throwy beam for as long as the voltage lasts in the battery without it getting hot and dropping current.

The Osrams run pretty hot. There’s also no way the D4Sv2 is thermally staple anywhere near the top of the CC output - 9A, so 27+ Watts
The nice thing is, in general the anduril temperature ramp is so gentle you don’t seem to notice it

Updated till here :D

Convoy L21B

I’m surprised that it only has 1 point

Nitecore TIKI (a RovyVon Aurora A5 clone clone or vice versa)

Wildtrail WT90 for sure.

I’ve decided that the Thrunite Catapult Mini is my favorite flashlight I got in 2021. I’m impressed by it every time I pick it up.

Sofirn IF22A

Emisar D4Sv2 W2

Emisar DT8 XPL Hi 4000k

I have a Mateminco MT70 Mini SFN55.2 coming in for a landing in about 2 days.
Got the SamSung 30T’s warming up.
Getting a mean hunch this light will make my favorite list.

Wuben E6,
Being a pocket rocket that can powered by 14500 or AA battery

Convoy M26c with GT-FC40.
