What lights do I need in my collection?

Not funny

Though Black Friday (sales) are just over a month away i am finalizing my intended light purchases.
Right now i am looking at replacing two lights i sold with these upgrades, the Convoy M21B and Convoy S21A.

My criteria are a tube light and all purpose light, most lumens and reliable. And 21700.
Are these the best choices?

Just got a Convoy 3x21a with 90.2 LED from Alibaba.com. Quite nice. Highly recommend you to give this some consideration, if you especially like 21700 flashlights.

But couldn’t find this either at “Convoy flashlight Store” in Ali Express, or Banggood.

Would be nice but with a ~$70 budget for two lights its not quite gonna work.
I am looking for an all purpose light and a tube light.

You need a beater. Something that if you hit or lose it doesn’t matter. 550 lumens.
Ilumn has the Wowtac A1. This lights comes with a chargeable battery built in the battery. 2600 mAh.
Has dual switch and a pretty balanced beam. Moonlight and SOS. Strobe too.
The original price is 24 bucks. They have it for 9.99 WOW!.
I bought 3, I’m sure they have more.
Cheers.

That is a good point.
I have considered a Sofrin or Wurkkos instead of Convoy for the side switch and general purpose throwing around.

if i had got what i wanted the first time, i wouldn;t have a collection at all!

one EDC small bright 18650 not-thrower

and maybe one big non pocketable ‘’white laser’’ thrower

and maybe one super small AAA light

The real question is what lights don’t you need in your collection :stuck_out_tongue: I just purchased my 55th one today

What sucks is that my low cashflow dictates my buying decisions.
I can afford 2-3 new lights form the proceeds of my light sale.

55th collection ?

Perhaps he has 55 collections of 10 lights each

Did you read this backwards? 55th one meaning fifty five flashlights in my collection total. Its now 56 that is fifty six total flashlights in my collection as of today, for the reading impaired :stuck_out_tongue: That’s a silly face at the end. :stuck_out_tongue:

Consider some brass and copper. They are by far the coolest.

I have given this some thought and have come up with these candidates:

Convoy S21A - review

Wurkkos FC11 - review

Sofirn SC31 Pro - review

Sofirn SP32A V2.0 - review

Sofirn SP35 - review

But am unable to decide between them.
I am not concerned about the 18560 vs 21700 and i don’t have any Anduril lights, but that is not necessarily the deciding criteria.

I am almost ready to drop the Convoy as a side switch is useful for me.

I myself would look at the unique selling-points of each light and decide what I find most important:

Convoy: rear button and choice in led’s

FC11: high CRI and comes in purple!! :person_facepalming:

SC31pro: small, very bright and Anduril

SP32A v2: cheap and some more throw

SP35: bright and most throw of this bunch

Just decide what is important to you and buy and have fun.

Working on this, working list:

Convoy tail switch - likely a deal breaker

FC11 - 1A charging (good), click to off but battery check is only a few secs at startup, not regual;ted, brightness falls with voltage, and PWM is bad?. $22.66

SC31 Pro - Andruil, 2A charging rate (not good), brightness is not very constant.

SP32A - cheap, $19.99 right now, but no LVP, zeroair says the tint sucks and to turn the light off you have to hold the switch, annoying. But comes with an 18650 battery

SP35 - 21700, 40ºC ATR, might not fit longer batteries, $30.99

As for me, only the FC11 and the SC31 Pro are lights that I find interesting from this bunch.

I find high CRI very nice and don’t mind loosing some lumen to have it and I like purple but still like the SC31 Pro too, especially the green one with the green button-led, very classy! :sunglasses:

To be honest none are ideal lights.
If i was designing UIs and specs i would have make solid lights.

The SP32A when in ramping mode is click on or off. Hold for off is only when using stepped mode. Another nice feature is that it is a regulated driver light. A minus, for me anyway, is no charging. The SC31pro with shorty tube is my current EDC. Throw it in my pocket with keys and let it look like a working light. Love it. It may not have the run time but that is not what I use it for.

I went with the FC11.
It is not perfect but it looks like a decent beater light.
I was debating between 4000K and 5000K, i went with 4000K.
