Tested eight of them in my two Liitokala 500’s last night. Pretty consistent, but as others have noted, no where near the rated capacity. Don’t really care as long as they cycle well and don’t die prematurely (big if…). Surprised the 250ma rate yielded a lower capacity, normally I would expect the opposite, maybe I’ll switch the units and see if the numbers follow the batteries or the units.

None of the Chinese Brand batteries ever test the stated MAH —— some Turnigy tested about 90% — these were cheap enough — good for Grandkids toys

The DOAs aren’t confidence inspiring. The EBLs I got earlier were about 200mah underrated.

Which has to be marketing BS. There are no 2800mAh LSD, and few that are even worth a damn.

I had good luck with the EBL 9V Lithium rechargeables so far, but the EBL AA Ni-Cads had a couple of early deaths in a group that otherwise still appear fine. Curious.

The moral of that story must be when looking for the next great thing or a “great price”: stick with Eneloops or Laddas.

For many years now I only buy Eneloops or rebranded ones because regardless of price other ones either had poor performance or short lifespans, and usually both.

Only eneloops for me. Don’t even worry about rebranded. At $2.50 each and 2100 recharges it amounts to nothing.

It’s a shame the internal 18650 cells aren’t easily replaceable. Looks like a nice lantern though.

Gerber Suspension Multi-tool NXT for $23.38. Anybody have this model? Is it a good deal?

roperly The reviews
Edit:The link for this Gerber wouldn’t post properly but that’s probably ok. The reviews for this model are very poor. It may be worth the sale price but no more. Gerber multi-tools have become a disappointment. I’ll stick with Leatherman.

I have several of the variations of the old Gerber 600’s and the Suspension NXT that I have does not compare from a rigidity or abuse loving standpoint.

My 16 AA's came yesterday. All @ 1.34 ~ 1.38 V. Damage from factory overcharge?

I wonder why one would buy an expensive battery charger and then buy inexpensive batteries ?

After being on this forum for a limited amount of time it seems cheap batteries always disappoint .

I purchased the same batteries with the charger so I wouldn’t know for sure I wasted my money .

Not sure I quite understand that rationale.
With a decent charger you can find out if your (cheap) battery is OK/fantastic/disappointing/complete garbage, whatever it cost. You can track battery performance/capacity/degradation over time. That does have the possibility of doing your own research and learning from that.
With a cheap charger >>> you will never know much of anything with any kind of quantification or reliability. It pretty much becomes, work/doesn’t work. It doesn’t give you any opportunity to learn much of anything.

I do agree, cheap batteries generally disappoint. Inexpensive, but decent chargers, can be useful for basic charging, but don’t supplant a good analyzing charger.

There are plenty of stories like mine. I bought four 26650’s that people said were Shockli 5500 rewraps… quality cells at normal price. Two years later after about six charges each, one would not hold a charge and today one charged less than half the speed of the other two. I charge at .7 amps, why hurry, and stop before 4.0v. They never got below 3.5v. Even if you buy mainstream cells, you need a good charger.

100w portable solar, I have had a price watch on this for a long time, seems like a good price given inflation…
