Custom dual quad LED flashlight build

Forgive me as a new member for asking something I’m sure has been answered ad nauseum…but I’m looking for resources on how to build my first custom light. I’d like to have a dual quad flashlight, like the Emisar DT8. One quad would be a 4-up Cree XP-L Hi 6500K white and the other quad is where it gets a bit tricky-I’d like 2x UV, 1x red and 1x blue. My main concern is how to get the LEDs powered and have some sort of reasonable control with either one switch or at most two switches (body switch and tail switch). Something like 1, 10, 50, 100 white, 100% UV, 100% red and 100% blue.

But being a noob at this, I have no idea where to start with finding the right components. Help? And apologies again for perhaps asking a question oft-posted…

Each group of LEDs you want to control separately (aka white, UV, red, blue) requiters at least one control signal, sometimes called channel. so in your case you need 4 channels.
you have to search for a driver with 4 channels. unfortunately I don't know any "off the shelf" driver with more than 2 channels but maybe other members know...

If you have some programming knowledge you can design a driver to your requirements

Have a nice time here, timato!

Yeah, that was my thinking; have you ever seen anyone use two drivers in one flashlight?

Yes, I did it few times but In a modified body.

You will probably need more switches although it can be done with a single switch where each driver triggered by different press length or some other trick...
Another option is a single driver with single or double channel and a 2nd toggle switch to direct the output to different emitter

I was figuring a side switch for the 4x 6500K XP-L Hi and a tail switch to cycle through the colored LEDs, but yeah, definitely a modded shell. The programming and matching power source to LEDs are my biggest areas of concern. I might start off more simply with a white-only build to “dip my toe” in the water. I have a tendency to jump into projects that are over my head. lol

Investigate into the driver that is in the Jetbeam RTTT03. It has function similar to what you describe. But the difference is that 3 colors are in one single emitter. But it has a side selector combined with a tail switch to achieve different settings.

Thanks, vonroyale! I’ll check it out!

Here is a three-channel buck driver, but the UI isn’t great and it’s got one less channel than you’ll need for your build.

Thanks! You’ve got some unique things I haven’t found on other sites. I appreciate the link!
