What's on your Black Friday 2021 wish list (flashlights and non-flashlight related)

Hey guys,

What do you guys have on your wishlist for Black Friday 2021 (and cyber Monday for that matter).

My wishlist so far:

  1. Medium sized suitcase that can fit in my larger suitcase
  2. A new watch (looking for a digital and an analog one)

I'm going to buy a couple of different items from AliExpress on 11/11, but they're not that interesting.

For Black Friday, I plan to get two large capacity external hard drives.

Last year I got two 14TB drives for $190 each.

I'm hoping this year to get a similar (or better) deal.

Wow, what do you need those 4*14TB for if I may ask?

That's a lot of storage Big Smile

I'm a data hoarder, and I'd like to have at least three copies of each file (on different drives) because hard drives eventually fail.

By 2060. With or without people. Probably without. But all of the other animals will be happy, except dogs, who will have to get jobs in the private sector.

Just pushed the button on a Nextorch Glo-toob GT AAA Pro for €10.80. (incl.shipping)
Got confirmation via email. You can find this light HERE
Comes in handy as a VERY waterproof and sturdy signal light on backpack or dog.

Cheapest on AZ.NL was €29.90 + €8.00 shipping. So you can call me a happy camper.

You are a flashaholic if you are forced to come out of the closet, to make room for more flashlights.

Here's a bunch of AliExpress promo codes for 11/11:

https://alimshake.com/compilations/item/367-11-11-at-aliexpress-2021-biggest-sale-review-and-promocodes

I got $9 off $65, though I had to order more stuff than I really wanted to to get the deal.  $)

Only thing I bought is a new driver, a BLF A6/S1 driver that’s going to replace my broken C8 driver. It wasn’t on sale but I had some points that where going to expire so used those.

As for lights: the only one I wanted wasn’t on sale and I’m in no hurry.

I was thinking about a new knife, saw so many I liked I can’t decide so that can wait too.

I was wanting an SBT90.2 flashlight for a while, and I couldn’t resist the 30% off on Nealsgadgets.

Hey ChibiM, saw that you’re looking for a digital watch. May I suggest this.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08VNR3NRW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_...

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08VNH56LY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_...

I bought both. They were about $20.00 each at the time.
The Blacked out negative display one is easy to read. Unlike the first generation ones that were much harder to see.
Best digital watches I’ve bought, and the price is right. You don’t mind if you bang them around.
BIG display for a blind guy like me. No strange graphic displays that I won’t use and takes up space. Just a simple watch with a stop watch, timer, and alarms.

Olight Javelot Pro 2 Desert Camouflage. Evil

But at the Olight USA website, it is listed at US$160.97 (I have one US$10 coupon, which is applicable; so the price comes down to US$159.97 + taxes).

However, I have found at the Olight Singapore/Malaysia website that the same model is / will be sold at only S$149.47 nett, or about US$110.70!! And no taxes.

I wonder why this price difference? Does Olight assume that flashlight buyers in the USA can always afford a higher price? Facepalm

My guess is that no, they just assume that flashlight buyers in the USA can afford the higher price often enough to make it more profitable than the lower one.

Wow, that's exactly fitting my requirements, especially the one with the black letters on light background.
It's on my wish list, and saw it's about 30EUR here, so hopefully get a little discount around black friday.

Thanks!

Well should build gaming pc so components would be needed, but gaming laptop wouldn’t be bad choice either and wouldn’t need to go through all hassle to find right parts.

So GPU’s are still under the rock so I been looking this pretty nice deal of Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16” IPS 2560 × 1600 gaming laptop with Ryzen 7 5800H and RTX 3070. Also got 16 gb ram, 32 gb max and 512 gb SSD NVMe. Only for 1699 € and you also get Legion Y25-25 24,5” 240hz monitor free with that.

Deal lasts this month and now I wonder should I get it or not. Should be enough for full hd GTA V experience and could even do bit higher resolutions too. Not sure about ram, probably enough and hard drive too seems a bit small, but can always get more if needed, but then we are looking +250 € more in upgrades. Yeah I don’t hoard stuff on my computer I use external hard drives for photos so then 32 gb ram kit would only be 150 €.

I’m leaning forward of buying. Seems like pretty solid rig and monitor beats my current 23” display easily.

Do you get SSD or HD? I’ve heard that for infrequent access long term storage drives, better to go with magnetic platter design. Not only is it cheaper, but it’ll last longer. What brand do you swear by?

When I frequented WatchUSeek, this model was lauded there. Really good value. One doesn’t need a nearly indestructible G-Shock if wearing for casual & light duty. The contrast on the negative display is excellent.

Also, there’s used watches to consider. I bought myself a Casio G-Shock GD-350 off eBay for about $40 shipped, very lightly used (worn just a few times), saving over 50% from retail. That watch has a vibration alarm. SUPER rugged. I never miss an alert because I actually feel it.

For the boot drive, SSD.

For all other drives, regular hard drives.

For SSDs, I always wind up getting Samsung.

For regular hard drives, I always get either Seagate or Western Digital.

I have a lot more Seagate hard drives than WD, and some of my Seagate hard drives have failed.

I have read that whichever you choose, between Seagate and WD, there is about an equal chance of failure.

I have also read that SSDs are more reliable, but, of course, they're more expensive.

If a regular hard drive is about to fail, you usually have some time to realize that it's happening.

I have read that with SSDs, they fail instantly (when they do fail.)

Good to hear it. I’m a Western Digital guy, for HDD. Never had one fail. I did own several Seagate drives and, on occasion, I’d have master table issues. Totally WD from now on.

Cheapest on AZ.NL was €29.90 + €8.00 shipping. So you can call me a happy camper.

Came home from walking the dog and the light lay waiting for me. Only 13 days.
A nice cardboard box with a manual and a lanyard in a bulletproof parcel.
The price has gone up to €11.64 (incl.VAT), but that’s still a no-brainer (IMHO).
If you’d ask me. Only 18hours left. No, I am NOT paid by them.

What color was that? I only see pink white or whatever. Local shop which sells about everything tool/car related is selling AAA Glo-Toobs 5.6€-7€, regular price 10€, but that’s not exactly same.
