Lets talk about shoes

If you suffer from sore feet as I do, due to neuropathy. I highly recommend Orthofeet as I own several pair and truly benefit from the comfort they provide.

I just purchased a pair of boots which are super comfortable.

Most Comfortable Walking Shoes, Sandals, Boots, Heels

I have all sorts of foot pain and can barely tolerate rotating between 3 pairs of Nike React, with insoles. Looking to add something to the rotation, plan to go try out Hoka Bondi 7 or SR and maybe the Ultraboost 21.

Similar, but different!

I still wear and like the same

Thanks for the link! I have a relative who is a diabetic and struggles with some foot neuropathy. I’ll let him know about this. 40% off Black Friday deals.

Nice looking boots. Appear to be made well. Not bad for 99 EUR. The soles remind me very much of ecco. PHOTO

In the house it’s always flipflops (no toe-thong). My feet don’t stank, but whenever I go sweep the crap off the sidewalk in the rain, hose down the patio, etc., I always hose off my feet and the flipflops too. In winter I’ll give ’em an occasional wash’n’rinse in the downstairs utility-sink.

Outside, from early spring to late fall, I’ll wear sneakdals (sandals but look kinda like brown sneakers), so I don’t have to wear sox. Got like 3pr at Kohls when they were on closeout and I had some big-ass coupons.

Winter, I had some ancient construction-boots that I had resoled ’til the uppers started to split. Comfy as all Hell.

Sneakers… something with an ‘N’ or ‘Z’ on it, forgot. 10bux or 20bux per pair at Modells, also end-of-season closeout, so got 2pr (on the 2nd pr already). Not the comfiest (pinches my pinky-toe after a while), but I don’t wear footwear for long anyway, even would change into water-shoes at work, as they look more “shoelike” than fuzzy slippers.

And yeah, water-shoes. Another closeout at Kohls, got a bunch to wear as slippers inside/outside.

Got 1pr of dress shoes, which hurt like Hell, to the point where I have to recover the next day or two if I wear ’em to a funeral or such.

I do have a pair of soft-soled shoes that are USPS-sanctioned or whatever’s the rating. No idea what I’m “saving” them for, but they’re almost untouched. Comfy, though. Guess all the others (sneakers, sneakdals, etc.) get priority.

Brands? Rarely if ever even take notice, let alone have any “brand loyalty”.

Running shoes/sneakers: Olympikus
Boots: Atalaia
Sapatênis (mostly informal shoes between dress shoes and sneakers, super comfortable, no English equivalent): Pegada
Flip-flops: Havaianas

Red Wing, Timberland, Clarks, Crocs

Running shoes. I’m on my feet a lot, rapid walking and standing, and running shoes have proven over time to perform the best for me. I have several brands and rotate depending on color, weather, and other circumstances.

All time favorite if I still went to the office.

Most comfortable and probably the cheapest — they last that long! shoe I’ve owned.
Currently mostly wear Crocs or Sketchers.
Boots USAF standard issue? Got at career officer’s garage sale maybe a decade ago or so — still going strong.
Favorite winter boot.

I only use New balance :cowboy_hat_face:

I like Irish Setter steel toe for work and a pair of Justin for running around. Comfy pair of Nike Air Max something or the other when shorts are required.

My favorite shes/boots used to be ECCO but the soles were dissolving. Initially, they would give credit but then that stopped, have not even looked at an ECCO since!

Well, it seems that you got lucky with Kohl’s. They do have a tendency to source from good manufacturers in China. But for the most part in my experience, no-name brands don’t last. It doesn’t sound like you tax your around-home shoes and that can certainly help extend their life. I’ll have to check out my local store and see what they’ve got, as I didn’t have water shoes this past summer and kind of missed them.

Hadn’t heard of Sass before. That slip-on loafer looks to be very well made. Reminds me of Allen Edmunds.

I used to wear a lot of Ecco’s: after 3 pairs had the soles crumble from under me I’m done with those :rage:

A pair of Ugg’s is now my most used, in the summer I like Crock’s, the Swiftwater sandals.

If I go for a hike I’ll wear some Waldlaufer’s, this brand is not so common so I’ll give you a picture of these:

In the fields I’ll wear some Muckboot’s and in the snow I’ll wear some snowboot’s.

Those “Vietnam jungle boots” from Sportsmansguide were aces. Wore out the soles and the uppers were still in great condition. Looked ratty, but no splits or cracks, didn’t pull away from the soles, nuttin’.

Original tread pattern would let you walk up the side of a coconut tree.

Buy a size larger. In summer, stick a coupla pair of innersoles inside. In winter, take out the innersoles, wear heavy sox instead. All-year boots.

Dunno why, but I thought it was hilarious in snow to see other peoples’ boot-tracks with those sissy little ‘+’ lugs on ’em, and I look behind me and see my tracks as the equivalent of oversized off-road tires instead.

Noooo don’t talk me about shoes, I’ve spent more for them that for flashlights
My favourite brand is Nike, but for trail running I’m going with Salomon and Hoka, for fast race Saucony

Dr Scholl’s as I find they are quite comfortable. I wear Merrell’s also but had a chance with the Scholls and find that they are pretty good too,
