Compact wide spill thrower?

Hi!

Can anyone name few compact throwers that have wide spill or “flood throwers”. The battery is not important but bezel size should be around 38-40mm or smaller.
Would love to have reach 300+ M.

At the moment i found that the Acebeam L16 and Imalent DN35 have beam that i really like. Maybe also Imalent DN40 as its small but the raw lumens make nice light. The price is beefy tho.

Thanks,

Indrek

I don’t know your size requirements but what about the Q8 available on this forum? Gives a massive amount of spill and throw. Should reach 300 M and lights everything up for 50-100M (wide) getting there. If by DN40 you mean DN70, I have one and it’s easily 2-3x in throw and spill. It is direct drive so diminishes over time but for a massive spot it works well. And cheap with a code and if you already have batteries.

Hej Mandala,

the size is kind of pretty critical. I really would not like to go bigger than the DN70 size. I belive it was a 38mm head? The Q8 has like 59mm head!

The massive spot with the spill is exactly what i am hunting. I made my mind by the videos that i saw. The DN35 has pretty big spot and spill enough and you can run it on low lumens(save battery) still reaching far.
The idea is use it as a secondary light for spotting trail markers in bad conditions(snow storm  )

But still open for ideas and a wink towards those great codes will be helpful also!

It is kind of sold out everywhere, but not rightly so: the Luckysun D80 is a decent thrower (it should go over 300m) with a shallow reflector so good wide spill. There used to be a great BLF-version of that light (the BLF-D80) that is not available anymore but the Luckysun version is still at Fasttech (with useless battery and useless charger):

I like the D80, but not the modes. The driver can be readily changed though. I have two, both modded, one with an FET driver running bistro. On turbo it gets hot fast.

Thanks, i will have a look at this D80.

I was hoping to get a “ready made” thing but if really needed i will go to the modding department also. I really like lamps that ramp or can be programmed. At the moment my favorite is Mankee U11, great beam and programmable. Now i would like just more “horsepower”
I see that Haikelite Sc01 could be interesting option also. Any idea if anybody has put a OP reflector to this Sc01 just to compare. XHP35 Hi combined with OP reflector would be interesting to see…

I didn’t want to start a new thread so just decided to revive this one.
Any recommendations in this category for 2021?
TIA

There are many good options in this category of throwy lights with lots of spill. My top recommendations would be the Noctigon KR1 (35mm bezel), Noctigon DM11 (40mm), Lumintop FW21 X9L (40mm), and Manker MC13 SBT-90.2 (42mm).

If you need high CRI, I would get the DM11 with B35AM LED. 48kcd, 1600 lumens, that’s well over 400m throw with plenty of spill, beautiful tint and CRI. Or for a slightly smaller light get the KR1 with SST-20 4000K, will have similar throw but less spill. If CRI is not important but you want nice tint, you could get XP-L HI in KR1.

If you want MAX performance in terms of lumens and throw, you’d want to look at the SBT-90.2 lights, the X9L and MC13.

It really just depends on what you prioritize, in terms of raw performance, tint, CRI, etc.

Nice! Thanks for the reco

All good recos, thanks.
I’ve just very recently fallen down the “thrower” rabbit hole and actually waiting on the MC13, my first thrower. But it’s with the original Osram.
Cheers

D4SV2 W2 maybe? Or the tint ramping version with W1 or W2 on one channel and something floodier on the other channel.

People have tested the D4Svn W2 at 4000 to 4600 lumen at turn on - 429 meter to 630 meter throw, depending upon which battery is used, etc. The flood is perfect for most of my needs

manker u11 has a terrible switch

it will break if you use it much

Convoy M21B with the FC40, FANTASTIC spill, great range and amazing cri.
