i still have a handful of xhp35 HI 3000k 90CRI from Kaidoman. They are the most nuetral warm white I've seen. They are NOT green, their not necessarily rosy. But they're big advantage is even when comparing them to 219b sw30, they do not look green (sw30 is very rosy). So the xhp35 HI 3000k 90 cri will be going in my dm11. It's a lower output, but awesome tint.
The one on the far right is what I’m using in my dev host. Or perhaps even more floody, not sure exactly which optic it’s using. It’s a nice beam, but it’s not very throwy at all. And the host is pretty scratched up and had some manual corrections to the shape. So it’s great for dev purposes, since it’s functionally the same as a production model but not in good enough condition to be sold to a customer or sent to a reviewer.
This looks like a nice upgrade!
It might help to check the lens, and maybe polish off the AR coating. Hank said your light is 99% the same as a production version, and the lens might be that other 1%. I noticed the coating on my dev host was different than his other lights, and gave the beam a green hue, but he said that’ll be fixed in production. If that affects yours, you should be able to fix it by scraping off the AR coating with a polishing cloth or something.
I’m leaving mine as-is because it’s the only time I’ve seen this type of AR coating and its uniqueness makes it useful. The coating has sort of a rainbow hue depending on the angle. When I remove the lens, the beam looks white instead of green.
Glad you liked the video! I don’t do any commercials… maybe in the future!
Thanks for the suggestion! I gave it a try - There is not any coating that I can see on the lens of my light, and removing the lens did not change the color of the beam in any way. It appears based off this sample that Hank has listened to the feedback and changed/removed the AR coating.
