Sofirn LT1S (shorty LT1 with 2700k/6500k/red?)

Well, this is new. A shorty, single 21700 LT1 with a red channel and a wider adjustable CCT range? Also looks like you might be able to individually control left and right side emitters.

Here’s what I could gather

Emitters: 18x 2700k, 18x 6500k, 4x red (all unknown manufacturer/model/CRI/duv, but they’re referred to as CSP—perhaps Nichia E17A, E21A or Luxeon HL1)
UI: Unknown, but features suggest a customized Anduril with triple-click for red.
Battery: 1x21700 (onboard USB-C charging at top with 4-LED charge indicator)
Dimensions: 68mm diameter (same as LT1) x 97mm length
Weight: 257g
Runtimes (advertised):
table(table#posts).
|Mode|Turbo|High|Medium|Low|Moon|
|Luminous Flux (lm) (6000k-2700k)|500 lm|150 lm|50 lm|10 lm|1 lm|
|Runtime (6000k-2700k)|2h 20min|6h|18h|90h 3min|555h|
|Runtime (red)|2h 30min|10h|64h|

Whaaaat…??!!! Interesting.

Interesting indeed!

Whoa…unexpected, but makes sense. It’s sort of like Sofirn took what they liked about the LT1 and made a form factor closer to the Zanflare T1.

40 LED in a lantern? Is there even enough space inside that thing for all of them?

I know the photo and video people have those LED panels, pricing is around the same too, so maybe Sofirn is using those LEDs?

ordered one, I’ll see it is good

This looks cool, but will wait for reviews, already bought 5 flashlights in November, I'm over the quota for a while.

So I guess this is what happened to the LT1 mini project. I like this form factor though.

I don’t think so, I think this is just Sofirn just making something they wanted to make. This LT1S doesn’t have Anduril and I’m willing to be the LEDs aren’t high CRI. I think a lot of people would be quite ticked off if this replaced what was to be the LT1M.

I wouldn’t be surprised if all LEDs are high cri. With 40 of them in the lantern Sofirn is most likely using those super small Luxeon chips, which are often used in LED video and photo lighting panels and those are 90 CRI.

I am also curious what real time battery life one can get from one 21700, considering the miriad leds :).
Am am happy with the LT1 numbers, but the form factor and weight, could be better.

You’d think if they were high CRI and emitters worthy of using, they’d say so in the specs.

I would prefer the 2700-5000K range. I don’t see the need to waste efficiency on 6500K.

Just had a link to this light posted by a guy on another forum. Totally not bothered about the simplified non-Anduril UI. Very much liking the stable form factor, and seriously hoping the deep red leds are in the 570 nm range as was the AAA CR01 keychain light.

I see they’re claiming the deep red to be beneficial to the eyes:

“Deep Red light: to help improve declining eyesight, scientists have said. A study by University College London, involving a small sample size of 24 people, has shown that staring at long wavelength light for three minutes every day can ”significantly improve vision” in those aged 40 and above.”

Got one ordered, as you do.

AFAIK LED’s with higher color-temps are generally more efficient than warmer colors :innocent:

It says on the aliexpress listing that this has the candlelight, lightning storm etc blinking/flashing modes, but I don’t see those referenced anywhere else. Can anyone confirm whether this model has them or not?

I never bothered with the regular LT1 as I found the design way too bulky.
This one is way more interesting with integrated battery along the center.

We need more details on LED type, CRI, and if the light output is regulated or not.

CRI = 90

I ordered this lantern immediately upon learning of its availability, and received confirmation that it was shipped out (from Sofirn’s AliExpress store) on 12/3.

Today I received an update that the shipment was canceled by the seller (but no further explanation or order cancelation notice).

Anyone have any experience with this? I’ve bought dozens of flashlights from them and never had this issue.

How can a shipment be canceled more than a week after it’s shipped?

Where did you see CRI 90?
