Overview: All Eneloop batteries 2005-2024

Little update, picked them up today:

-they are GEN1(UTG), and not GEN2(UTGA)
-wrapping is poor, Ill post pictures tomorrow, basically scratched/dented and not evenly distributed
-not sure if these are geniune first generation Eneloops or just some ripoffs.

One of the 4 batteries that I tested discharged only 190mAh@1000mA discharge rate.
The rest I stopped at ~380mAh because I had to go out and didnt want to leave charger unattended.

Any suggestions whether 500mA discharge rate will be accurate enough for tests? I dont want to spend days of testing running dicharge @100mA or 200mA.

That is, in fact, the charge and discharge rate I use for AA and AAA

After initial discharge of 7 10 batteries here are the results:

1587mAh
656mAh
190mAh
393mAh
1664mAh
1616mAh
1606mAh
703mAh
731mAh
719mAh

There are 4 2 more discharging currently and one last battery awaiting for discharge.

Heres the packaging:

Wrappers are of poor quality:

Theres plenty of empty space between top of the battery and wrapping material:

Heres the bottom of batteries after removing them from charger once/twice:

Regarding their weight - they weigh as much as Turnigy AA LSD’s and gram or two more than my older 2nd generation UTGA AA Eneloops.

Do these seem legit? I dont own any 1st generation AA UTG series Eneloops, only AAA ones, but the build quality appears to be poor and not like original Eneloops. Not sure how well will they perform because it will take months to test their LSD data and thus I cant be sure regarding their performance.
Look fake to me.

Oh man!!!

This is SAD!!! TERRIBLE!!!

I ordered one pack last saturday!

Definetively FAKE

1) In DD photos, you can clearly see that in the photos is shown the second generation. The one you received, are FAKE 1st gen

2) Discharge tests from factory: Cells which are 1500mAh, OK, but the cells that are 190 or 300mAh… TERRIBLE

3) They have a “ridge” near the positive end

4) There is an SPACE between the words “FIRE, NOR”. Original ones MUST not have the space

5) Venting holes: original are “conical shape”. The ones you received are “rectangular shape”

6) The quality of the wrapper. No comments

7) Can you see any DATECODE printed in the surface? if not DEFINETIVELY FAKE!!!

Oh no!!! DinoDirect I want my money!!!

There are no date numbers on these fake cells but there are no on my 2nd gen Eneloops and 1st gen AAA neither, I found that my original ones have etched date codes, barely visible now.

Last two cell discharge numbers:

714mAh
1587mAh

I also charged two cells @2000mA charge rate, guess what I get:

2611mAh
2780mAh

Definitely fake by looks and by performance, will contact DD today and ask for full refund and report them to Sanyo, if that will make any sense

aaaarrrgggggggggggg

I have lost 15$ and I now have to buy genuine eneloops elsewhere (waste more money!)

Guys!!! DONT BUY ENELOOPS AT DINODIRECT!!!

Please, vëer, keep me informed on how DinoDirect solves the problem because I will have the same problem in a few weeks.

I can not throw my money to the garbage!

I would only charge at 1000, but if they are real they should take 2000. This is the charge you put in or did you do a discharge after charging the batteries? If they are real, a full Eneloop should discharge right around 1900-2050. But given how old these are, it may take a couple of cycles before they behave normally.

Its charge, I havent had time to test their true capacity.
Either way 2600/2700mAh seems bit too high even for supposedly old cells with long shelf life.

I took the wrapper off one of the batteries:

Theres print on battery:
HFR NI-MH 120417

I have no idea, googling brings up only Alibaba brandless battery results, it doesnt find anything with 120417 tho, only with HFR NI-MH.

Alibaba links say Place of Origin: Guangdong China (Mainland) Brand Name: HFR
Perhaps this is the manufacturer:

Anyone know anything about these Sanyo Harmolattice

All I know is they are LSD, 2500mAh and 500 cycles (same as XX eneloop)

Well, $15 is really good price for re-branded & pretty XX’es!
Really shame that it’s only seller & he doesn’t ships internationally, I’d so take a 4-pack of these.

+1 on that, 15$ for XX Eneloops is a bargain, but shipping would probably kill the deal for us because we can get them for ~21$ locally.

Little update regarding my fake DinoDirect Enepoops - their capacity range from 1800mAh to 2400mAh, I will test 4 of them for their LSD properties tomorrow, 2 days after I charged them, next 4 I will test in a week, if its going to be worth it, it depends how good data will turn to be after 2 days of self discharge.
If its promising, then 1 month test is due.

Have you contacted DinoDirect about the issue?
(I still haven´t received mine)

I have, its been 5 days and NO reply from them, I opened up a case in resolutions center, left a message today there to see whether anyone will reply or not.

I bought these for my brother through his account, looks like Im keeping them and resolving this case as well

these are the Eneloop XX in a different wrapper.
I think we talked about them earlier in this thread.

The numbers are not really good, most likely fakes. 2400 is way too high, and 1800 is not so good either

Same specs as the XX/Pro, just a different packaging? There are posts on the internet about these going back to January 2011. They seem to have been marketed in Malaysia and the Philippines based on the posts I’ve seen.
