Oh yeah me too! Took my Imalent MS08 out the other night and although the power was pretty amazing for a small light, it just didn’t have much throw. I have the Imalent MS18 which supposedly goes like 1600 or 1700 meters.
Without knowing any specifics, I believe that we will hardly be able to have more than 50000 lumens or half of MS18 and then more than 1600-1700 meters of launch or a little more than MS18 which reaches 1400 but all with a certainly higher weight and bulk.
Passive heatsink and about 480-680watts of power for a body that can barely handle 4 XHP70.2’s, why not just put a fan on the thing instead of it burning your hand, unless your into that sorta torture?
Ya I have the MS18 and I’m wondering if the GT94X would make more sense for me. I wonder if a new version of that is in that works with twice as many SBT90.2s
I had foolishly thought this was going to throw ~ 3,000 m. Hey @freeme do you still any discount code for the GT94X from Neal? It sounds like the GT8 would be very similar to my MS18
The cells have to work harder to power all the LEDs (to the same brightness as just 1)
Someone better at maths and electronics may correct me here.
The GT4 doesn’t throw quite as far as the GT70 and the GT94 doesn’t throw quite as far as the GT90. Versions with 8 LEDs should have similar or slightly lower throw than the ones with 4 LEDs.
